MLB Home Run Props and Predictions Today: Top Player Props for Sept. 2

Detroit Tigers catcher Dillon Dingler (13) bats against the Tampa Bay Rays during the second inning at Comerica Park in Detroit on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026.

You've found my best MLB home run props for Wednesday! I’m targeting two power bats in favorable splits, then closing out the card with a strikeout prop against a Mariners lineup that has struggled badly with left-handed pitching. Let’s get into my top MLB home run props and player props for Sept. 2!

MLB Home Run Props for Sept. 2

It feels like every time I’m writing about MLB home run props, Tomoyuki Sugano is on the mound. He gets the ball for the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field as they host the Baltimore Orioles, and that is a nightmare matchup against a hitter like Pete Alonso.

Sugano arrived in the majors as a respectable ground-ball pitcher, but he has been underwhelming in nearly every facet this season. According to Baseball Savant, he ranks in the first percentile in expected ERA and barrel rate allowed, does not keep the ball on the ground, and generates very few whiffs.

That is a brutal profile to bring into Coors Field, especially against a power hitter like Alonso. The Orioles slugger is enjoying a sensational season and is making every penny of his new contract. He ranks in the 98th or 99th percentile in several power metrics and is slugging .500 this year.

Alonso has the raw power to leave any ballpark, but the elevation in Denver adds even more upside. Sugano has been one of the most attackable starters in baseball, and this is one of the best environments possible for a home run prop.

MLB Home Run Predictions: Dillon Dingler

Next, we’ll head to Target Field as the Minnesota Twins host the Detroit Tigers. Dillon Dingler to hit a home run on DraftKings Sportsbook is another MLB home run prop I’m backing Wednesday.

Dingler is enjoying a true breakout season for Detroit. The 27-year-old catcher has already launched 26 home runs and ranks in the 83rd percentile in expected slugging percentage.

Dean Kremer takes the ball for Minnesota, and he has been extremely vulnerable to right-handed power. Kremer has allowed an ISO north of .200 to right-handed hitters this season, while Dingler owns a .260 ISO against right-handed hurlers in 2026.

That is more than enough for me. Dingler gets the platoon matchup against a pitcher who has struggled to keep righties from doing damage, and he has the underlying power metrics to make the most of it.

MLB Strikeout Props Today: Patrick Sandoval

For my MLB strikeout prop today, I’m taking Patrick Sandoval over 5.5 strikeouts against Seattle at -112 on DraftKings.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend Sandoval has been a good, consistent pitcher throughout his career. But this is more of a Mariners fade than a full endorsement of Sandoval.

Seattle has been dreadful against left-handed pitching since July 1, owning the worst strikeout rate in baseball against southpaws at a staggering 26.5%. The Mariners have several high-upside hitters, but they continue to swing and miss vs. left-handed pitchers.

At a fair number, I’m willing to back him to record at least six strikeouts against a lineup that has consistently struggled in this split.
