MLB Home Run Props and Predictions Today: Top Player Props for Sept. 19

It’s the next-to-last weekend of the MLB regular season and there are playoff spots up for grabs. We’ve got a full 15-game slate Saturday, starting at 4:05 pm ET when the Milwaukee Brewers continue an interleague series in Charm City as they square off with the Baltimore Orioles.

Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for September 5

Mookie Betts, Dodgers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110, Hard Rock)

Betts is in the midst of a down year by his standards. He entered Friday hitting .250 with 20 doubles, 20 homers and 62 RBI on the year. Betts missed some time earlier in the year with an oblique strain. If there’s a pitcher that Betts loves to face, one of the ones on that list has to be the Giants’ Logan Webb.

In his career, Betts is 16-of-44 with two doubles and two homers against Webb. Throw in Webb’s road struggles (4-4, 5.29 ERA over 64.2 innings) and Betts has favorable options here. Look for him to go over the number here to cash the prop.

Seiya Suzuki, Cubs Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135, Fanatics)

Suzuki is a key cog in the middle of a Cubs lineup that leads the majors with 817 runs entering Friday night. He went into Friday’s action with a .266 average, 30 doubles, one triple, 24 homers and 81 RBI on the year. Facing Cincinnati this year, Suzuki is 13-for-39 with four doubles, two homers and nine RBI.

In addition, he’s roughed up Nick Lodolo, the Reds’ projected starter, in his career. Suzuki is six-for-18 (.333) with three doubles, four RBI and a staggering 10 walks against him. He has the ability to cash this with one swing and with temperatures in the mid-to-high 80s, look for him to do just that.

Willson Contreras, Red Sox Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140, Hard Rock)

Contreras was a solid acquisition by the Red Sox in the offseason as he has delivered big offensive production. He entered Friday sporting a .276 average to go with 21 doubles, three triples, 27 homers and 81 RBI.

Among current Red Sox regulars, Contreras has had the most success against Rays’ starter Freddy Peralta. He is seven-for-26 (.269) against the righthander in his career. In addition, Contreras has a double, two home runs and four RBI in those at-bats. He is day-to-day after being plunked in the hand Thursday but if he goes, I’m comfortable backing him.

Home Run Picks Today (09/19):

Corey Seager, Rangers (+425, Hard Rock)

Seager is another guy that had high hopes for the season but has dealt with a slew of injury issues. He went into Friday night’s game hitting .234 with 16 doubles, 18 homers and 47 RBI on the season in 93 games. Seager has been good in September, hitting .295 with five homers in the month.

Meanwhile, Seager hits Jose Soriano fairly well, going four-for-11 (.364) against him in his career. In addition, one of those four hits left the yard. With so much at stake in a crowded AL wild card race, Seager is amped to deliver. Take a flier on him here.

Bryce Harper, Phillies (+450, Hard Rock

Harper is good again this season, though his power game was overshadowed by the prodigiousness of Kyle Schwarber. He is hitting .274 with 31 doubles, three triples, 28 homers and 84 RBI on the year. Harper has actually hit better on the road (.289, 14 homers in 280 at-bats) than at home (.257, 14 homers in 261 at-bats) this season.

While his numbers are down in September (one homer, five RBI in 56 at-bats), he’s hitting .321 for the month. In addition, he’s torched Mets’ pitching to the tune of a .447 average (17-of-38) with three home runs and 11 RBI. Harper is two-of-four against Christian Scott with a home run in his career. He dings the Mets’ righthander in this one.
