MLB Home Run Props and Predictions Today: Top Player Props for Sept. 1

Tuesday’s MLB home run props feature two young sluggers in excellent spots against right-handers due for regression. I’m also targeting an under in the strikeout market when the Detroit Tigers visit the Minnesota Twins. Let’s get into my favorite MLB home run props and player props for Tuesday, Sept. 1!
MLB Home Run Props Today for Sept. 1
We’ll start in Los Angeles, where the St. Louis Cardinals visit the Dodgers. Jordan Walker to hit a home run on DraftKings Sportsbook is my top MLB home run pick today as he faces Dodgers left-hander Eric Lauer.
Lauer has allowed a .220 expected ISO to right-handed hitters this season, which nearly matches his .219 actual ISO allowed. That tells me the damage has been legitimate, not simply the product of bad luck. Right-handed hitters have consistently squared him up, and Walker has the power to take advantage.
Walker has been one of the league’s biggest breakout players. After entering professional baseball as one of the sport’s most highly touted prospects, he overcame an early-career slump and has developed into a legitimate middle-of-the-order power bat. The 2026 Home Run Derby champion already has 27 home runs and a .496 slugging percentage.
His .275 expected ISO is elite, and he gets the platoon advantage against a southpaw who has not found a way to keep right-handed hitters in the yard. I also like that St. Louis is on the road, as a guaranteed 9th-inning at-bat can be a big help.

Next, we’ll head to Great American Ball Park, where the Cincinnati Reds host the San Diego Padres. Sal Stewart to hit a home run at +396 is another MLB home run prop I’m backing Tuesday.
Padres right-hander Randy Vasquez has been one of the luckiest pitchers in baseball this season. He owns a respectable 4.02 ERA, but his 5.67 expected ERA tells a much different story.
The splits are even more alarming against right-handed hitters. Vasquez has allowed only a .144 ISO to righties, but his .224 expected ISO allowed suggests that number should be far higher. He also allows a double-digit barrel rate and ranks in the 10th percentile in hard-hit rate allowed.
Stewart has eclipsed the 30-home-run mark and is one of baseball’s top power hitters this season. He ranks in the 89th percentile in barrel rate and sits well above league average in both expected slugging percentage and average exit velocity.
Great American Ball Park is one of the game’s better venues for power, and Stewart is in a great position to expose Vasquez’s misleading surface-level numbers.

MLB Strikeout Props Today: Troy Melton
For my best MLB player prop today, I’m taking Troy Melton under 4.5 strikeouts as the Tigers visit the Twins.
Melton has been impressive this season, and his strikeout numbers have improved over the past few months. However, I’m not entirely sold on his ability to consistently produce high strikeout totals, especially against a Minnesota lineup with several difficult outs.
The Twins have four projected hitters with meaningful samples who own strikeout rates below 20% against right-handed pitching this season. Minnesota also has talented young hitters such as Walker Jenkins and Kaelen Culpepper in the mix.
I’ll take the plus matchup for Minnesota’s contact-oriented lineup and back Melton to finish with four or fewer strikeouts.
