Tuesday’s MLB slate has a couple of matchups that are begging to be attacked with left-handed power, and I’m going right after them. I’ve also got a low strikeout number that I’m willing to take at plus money. Let’s get into my best MLB home run props and player props for Aug. 25!

MLB Home Run Props Today for Aug. 25

Jac Caglianone to hit a home run at +338 on DraftKings Sportsbook is my top MLB home run pick today. The Kansas City Royals take on Toronto, and Max Scherzer is set to take the mound for the home team.

Scherzer is a future Hall of Famer, but Father Time has caught up with him. He owns an ERA north of 7.00 this season, and left-handed hitters have been crushing him dating back to the beginning of 2025. This year, lefties are slugging .527 against him, and he has allowed a .232 ISO in the split.

Meanwhile, Cags has turned into one of the biggest power threats in baseball. He ranks in the 98th percentile in bat speed and hard-hit rate, while sitting in the 92nd percentile in barrel rate. The young Royals slugger does not need much help when he gets a pitch to hit, and Scherzer has been giving lefties plenty of chances to do damage.

A quick look at the top sports betting apps can make a meaningful difference on home run prices, but +338 is a number I’m happy to grab at DraftKings.

Best Bet: Jac Caglianone to Hit a Home Run DraftKings, +338

MLB Home Run Predictions: Yordan Alvarez

Next, we’ll head to Yankee Stadium, where the Houston Astros take on the New York Yankees. Yordan Alvarez to hit a home run is my second MLB home run pick today as he gets a matchup with Yankees right-hander Will Warren.

Warren has been a subpar pitcher this season, carrying an ERA in the mid-4.00s and allowing opponents to do plenty of damage. He has given up a .191 ISO to left-handed hitters, and that's a recipe for trouble at Yankee Stadium.

That is particularly true against Yordan.

Alvarez is having an unbelievable season. He ranks in the 99th percentile or better in five hitting metrics via Baseball Savant, which is basically unheard of. He hits the ball as hard as anyone in baseball, and his advanced profile is on another planet.

I would not be shocked if he has a monster series in the Bronx. Give me Yordan to leave the yard against Warren.

Best Bet: Yordan Alvarez to Hit a Home Run DraftKings

MLB Player Props Today: Seth Lugo Under 3.5 Strikeouts

For my MLB strikeout prop today, I’m taking Seth Lugo under 3.5 strikeouts at +113 on DraftKings as the Royals visit the Blue Jays.

Toronto has had a porous offense this season, but this is still a very difficult lineup to strike out. Since July 1, the Blue Jays own the best strikeout rate in baseball against right-handed pitching. They put the ball in play and make pitchers work.

Lugo is also who he is at this point. The 36-year-old does not miss many bats, ranking no higher than the fifth percentile in either whiff rate or chase rate.

It feels a little uncomfortable taking an under at such a low number, but I love getting plus money. Player prop odds move quickly, so check multiple sportsbook apps before placing your wager!
