Best MLB Pitcher Strikeout Bets Today: Player Props for September 24
Cam Schlittler, Yankees Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+100, Fanatics)
Schlittler is a front of the rotation guy for the Yankees this season, not to mention a Cy Young candidate. He is 14-6 with a 1.94 ERA, a 0.907 WHIP, 47 walks and 234 strikeouts over 163.2 innings of work on the year.
Schlittler is fourth in the majors in strikeouts on the year and third in WHIP. In addition, Schlittler recorded seven-plus strikeouts in 20 starts this season with six additional starts with six whiffs. While the Rays are the toughest team in the majors to strike out, averaging seven whiffs per game, that hasn’t slowed him.
In two starts against the Rays spanning 13 innings this season, Schlittler has 16 strikeouts. Current Tampa Bay hitters have a combined .243 average in 70 at-bats against him with 21 strikeouts. Yandy Diaz (one-for-11, five strikeouts) and Junior Caminero (three-of-12, HR, two strikeouts) struggle against Schlittler. He racks them up again here to cash the prop and Fanatics has a solid line to take advantage of.
Bryan Woo, Mariners Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-156, FanDuel)
Woo, like the Mariners as a whole, has been streaky this season. He is 12-9 with a 3.92 ERA, a 1.08 WHIP, 36 walks and 167 strikeouts over 167.2 innings of work on the year. Woo has had the Angels’ number in his career. He is 3-0 with a 2.83 ERA, a 0.89 WHIP, 10 walks and 57 strikeouts over 57.1 innings in 10 career starts against them.
In addition, current Angels hitters have a collective .190 average (12-for-63) against Woo. That includes Zach Neto (four-of-22, four whiffs) and Mike Trout (zero-for-nine, six strikeouts) in the mix. Woo has 20 strikeouts (31.7%) in those 63 at-bats to his credit. Meanwhile, the Angels are tied for last in runs per game (4.03) and stand last in strikeouts per game (9.54) this season.
Throw in that Woo is 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA and 11 strikeouts over 13.1 innings in two starts against the Angels this season and he cashes this prop.
Tyler Glasnow, Dodgers Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+120, FanDuel)
Glasnow missed a big chunk of the season with injury so this marks just his 13th start of the year for the Dodgers. He is 5-1 with a 3.46 ERA, a 0.961 WHIP, 23 walks and 87 strikeouts over 67.2 innings of work. Glasnow has at least seven punchouts in nine of his 12 starts this season entering this contest. Meanwhile, current Padres hitters own a putrid .139 average in 101 at-bats against him.
In addition, Glasnow ended 42 of those at-bats, or 41.6%, in strikeouts. Fernando Tatis Jr. (one-for-10, six whiffs), Xander Bogaerts (four-of-23, seven punchouts) and Ty France (one-for-nine, six K’s) all struggle mightily against the big righthander. Head to FanDuel and get your bet down on him to go over the number here.

Ranger Suarez, Red Sox Under 14.5 Outs (-130, DraftKings)
Suarez hasn’t been as impactful as perhaps Boston fans envisioned when they got him in free agency. He enters this start 8-4 with a 3.27 ERA, a 1.20 WHIP, 45 walks and 135 strikeouts over 143.1 innings of work. Suarez failed to go deep in games lately. Since the All-Star break, eight of Suarez’s last 10 starts saw him work less than six innings. In half of those, he didn’t go more than five frames.
Active Cleveland hitters have hit Suarez well, posting a .386 (17-for-44) average. David Fry (four-of-five, two doubles) and Jose Ramirez (five-for-eight, double) hit Suarez very well. In addition, he went five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits with two walks and 10 strikeouts, in his lone start against the Guardians this season. Go to DraftKings and take the Under on this prop.
Tyler Mahle, Braves Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (-110, Hard Rock)
It’s been a rough year for Mahle, who started the season with the Giants before being dealt to Atlanta at the trade deadline. He is 7-10 with a 3.81 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP and 133 strikeouts over 144 innings of work on the year. However, since coming to Atlanta, he is 4-1 with a 1.28 ERA, seven walks and 44 strikeouts over 49.1 innings of work in eight starts.
Mahle went at least six innings in nine of his last 11 starts entering this contest. Meanwhile, one of the other two starts saw him go 5.2 frames. That includes six innings of one-run ball against the Astros in his previous start.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati is just 27th in the majors in runs per game this season with 4.11 per contest. The Reds are playing out the string on a disappointing campaign. As such, I don’t have much optimism in them doing much damage against a rejuvenated Mahle. Take the Over on his outs prop at DraftKings for this contest.
Paul Skenes Under 1.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-150, Fanatics)
Let’s be honest. This hasn’t been the dominant season one would have expected from Skenes. That's especially true after seeing what we saw him do the last couple of seasons. He’s just 10-11 with a 3.91 ERA, a 1.131 WHIP, 47 walks and 192 strikeouts over 168 innings in 31 starts this season.
Skenes said that pitching in the World Baseball Classic affected his season. We saw the drop in velocity that he had this year and the Pirates hope that it returns in 2027. After all, his ERA is nearly two full runs higher this season than last. While Skenes hasn’t had success against the Cardinals, he pitches tough against them. He is 0-5 despite a 2.74 ERA, a 0.961 WHIP, seven walks and 50 strikeouts over 42.2 innings in seven career starts.
Skenes has allowed two earned runs or less in 19 of his 31 starts this season. With both teams playing out the string, look for this to be a lower-scoring affair. In addition, Skenes may not go super deep in the game to avoid injury. That helps keep him under the number. Play the bet at Fanatics.
