Padres vs. Giants Prediction, Odds & Props for Sept. 13: San Diego Sweeps!

In the finale of an NL West series on Sunday night, the streaking Padres are in the City by the Bay to go for the sweep, facing the San Francisco Giants. We have it all covered here in this Padres vs. Giants prediction, from the latest odds and game info to the starting pitching matchup and value player prop bets.
The Padres (80-68) go for their second series sweep in a row, and they come into this finale on a six-game winning streak. They are out of the NL West race but have the third NL Wild Card a game and a half up on the Arizona Diamondbacks, whom they face at home in the last series of the regular season.
The Giants (62-87) have had a tough season, and they had won three in a row before dropping the first two games of this division series. They have the second-fewest wins in the NL and have already been officially eliminated from the playoffs.
At DraftKings Sportsbook, the visiting Padres are the favorite at -131 with the Giants at +110 and a total of 7 runs.
Seven Cuts the Mustard, Again
In the second game of this series, the Padres beat the Giants 7-6 after beating them 7-5 in the opener. In the 7-6 win yesterday, San Diego banged out 13 hits, Dustin Harris had three RBIs, and Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jackson Merrill each had a solo home run.
This season, the Padres rank ninth in team ERA, and while they rank only 23rd in runs scored, they have averaged 5.8 per game over their six-game win streak.
Tatis Jr. (.286, 21 home runs, 73 RBIs) leads the club in at-bats and batting average and is batting .333 this month with 10 hits and two home runs in the last six games. Merrill (.248, 25 home runs, 80 RBIs) is swinging a hot bat with eight hits and three home runs over his last three games.
First baseman Gavin Sheets (.211, 16 home runs, 46 RBIs) is out for this game on the 10-day IL.

Nick Pivetta (2-2, 3.43 ERA, 0.95) gets the nod for the Padres, and he will be making only his second start since spending nearly five months on the IL. In his first start back, he was solid, tossing five scoreless innings and allowing only two hits in a win. He will make his first start of the season against the Giants. Last season, he faced them four times, giving up a total of eight runs in the first two outings and only two runs in the last two. This year, he has logged only 21 innings, striking out 26 and walking six.
Giants Have Not Had Much Success Against Padres in Second Half
After beating the Padres in the first meeting in the second half, the Giants have lost their last five games against them. In the 7-6 loss in Game 2 of this series, four players had a home run, including Drew Gilbert and Rafael Devers, who each had two RBIs.
This season, San Fran ranks 24th in runs scored and 23rd in team ERA.
The Giants have been hit hard by injuries this season, especially to their pitching staff, and Willy Adames (.230, 21 home runs, 51 RBIs), who ranks second in home runs, is out on the 10-day IL.
Devers (.258, 37 home runs, 98 RBIs) is the only player on the club with over 55 RBIs and, in the two games of this series, has gone yard in each one and totaled six RBIs.

Padres Moneyline (-131, DraftKings)
Have to take the Padres in this one, as they have won six in a row and five straight over the Giants. Pivetta will have another solid outing, and San Diego will continue to get it done at the dish. The Padres will finish off the series sweep with their seventh win in a row.
