Even though the Brewers don't know who they'll face in the World Series, they enter the Fall Classic as betting favorites. Whether they face the Tampa Bay Rays or Cleveland Guardians, the Brewers are the favorites in the World Series.

The Odds

At FanDuel Sportsbook, the Brewers are -190 to win the World Series, followed by the Guardians at +340 and the Rays at +540. The Guardians lead the ALCS 2-1 and play on Saturday night after Friday’s game was rained out.

Whoever wins the World Series will make those who bet on them before the season happy campers, to say the least. Before the season, Milwaukee had the 14th-best odds to win the Fall Classic at 35-1, while the Guardians and Rays were both seen as longshots at 70-1 and 80-1, respectively.

Brew Crew Want Off the List

The Brewers are close to getting off that dreaded list of teams that have never won a World Series. Other teams that have never won the Fall Classic are the Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, and Tampa Bay Rays.

It would be cool to see a Rays vs. Brewers World Series, and it would be a lock for a team to win it for the first time.

Monkey off the Back, For the Most Part

The Brewers punched their ticket to the World Series in fashion, sweeping the L.A. Dodgers in the NLCS. That got the monkey off their back, as they were swept by the Dodgers in last season’s NLCS and lost to them in seven games in the 2018 NLCS.

Now Milwaukee has to get the bigger monkey off its back: never winning a World Series. It has been so long since they have made the World Series that their lone appearance there in 1982 was when they were in the American League. They lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games and now are in the same division as them.

Milwaukee's major pro sports teams have only two titles, both won by the Bucks in the NBA. Now the Brewers have a chance to add one in their first World Series appearance since Ronald Reagan was in the White House.
