That translates to a strikeout rate that any big-league club would covet.

Jump showed plenty of promise last season. He posted a 3.28 ERA across two levels in 2025 while racking up 131 strikeouts in 112.2 innings pitched — a performance that put the industry on notice and fast-tracked his path to the bigs.

The timing of the call-up is interesting. Oakland sits at .500 overall but holds first place in the American League West as May winds down — a position that makes Jump's arrival feel less like a rebuilding move and more like a legitimate reinforcement.
