All eyes will be on Toronto this evening as the Seattle Mariners come to town to take on the Blue Jays in the Rogers Centre for Game 6 of the 2025 American League Championship Series. We were promised an epic series, and these two teams have delivered a sensational back-and-forth battle for the ages.
In Game 5, the Mariners rallied from behind with five runs in the bottom of the 8th, capped off by a momentous Eugenio Suárez grand slam to win 6-2 and go up three games to two in the series.
It was a bit less exciting in the National League, with the Los Angeles Dodgers sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers, limiting them to just four runs and 14 hits over the four-game span.
With ALCS Game 6 and a full slate of NFL action, your betting apps will have massive value all over the place tonight. We'll try to make it easier by featuring our picks for MLB's best bets today.

Tonight, we're going to be treated to a fantastic pitching duel between Logan Gilbert and Trey Yesavage. Gilbert had a rough outing in Game 2, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits with a walk in just three innings. Gilbert has admitted on many occasions that he's a routine-oriented person, and starting on short rest really got to him. He threw two innings (34 pitches) during Seattle's 15-inning win over the Detroit Tigers in Game 5 of the ALDS.
“A lot of us, it’s the first time doing different things,” he said. “(Bryan) Woo the other day, Bryce (Miller) on short rest. So that’s the playoffs, and that’s kind of the fun of it, too. But we’re kind of creatures of habit too, so it’s nice being back in the normal routine. Even pitching here last time and now coming back here, just a little familiarity."
His Game 2 performance aside, he's thrilled and honored to get the start in Game 6.
“To be the one to have the ball, you grow up dreaming of moments like this,” said Gilbert. “And you don’t know how many you’ll get over the course of your career. Some guys never get this. So it’s a really big deal.”
On the other side is a story just about as unique and inspiring as anyone in baseball in Trey Yesavage. Yesavage is one of the few players in baseball history to ever be promoted from Single-A to MLB in a single season. He has pitched in Dunedin, Florida (Single-A), Vancouver, British Columbia (High-A), Manchester, N.H. (AA), Buffalo, N.Y. (AAA), and Toronto (MLB) over six months. Now, the Blue Jays will rely on him to extend their season.
"I feel like his last three starts in the big leagues have been pretty big games, and he's responded well," Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters on Friday. "You kind of lose sight of the fact that he's 22, you know, and you bring him up with 12 days left in the season, and you're not asking him to just get his feet wet. You're asking him to go win games. So he's stepped up to the challenge."
Yesavage had the first bump in his young MLB career in Game 2, allowing five runs over four innings, including three runs in the first before he recorded an out. If the Blue Jays are to have a chance, he'll have to get going early today in what's his sixth career MLB start.
The Blue Jays are slight favorites to get it done, and we like a Yesavage bounce-back performance today. Chalk him up for five innings, eight strikeouts, and the win today as Toronto forces Game 7.
