We've got a loaded MLB slate on Tuesday, and these are the best MLB bets today for April 28. We're riding a strikeout over on one of the nastiest arms in baseball, fading a pitcher in a brutal matchup at plus money, and targeting home run picks today against arguably the worst pitching profile in the league right now. Let's get into it.

Best MLB Bets Today: Top Player Props for April 28

Chase Burns over 6.5 strikeouts is my top MLB best bet today at -140 on FanDuel Sportsbook. There's some juice here, but it's not too much given what Burns brings to the table.

Burns has some of the nastiest stuff in baseball and has proven he can post big strikeout numbers consistently in his young MLB career. Per Baseball Savant, he ranks in the 87th percentile in whiff percentage and 76th percentile in strikeout rate. His slider is a genuine weapon. He throws it over a third of the time this season with an elite 37% putaway percentage. He's missing a ton of bats.

The workload concern from early last season appears to be fading. Burns reached a season-high 97 pitches against Tampa Bay in his last outing, which is a great sign heading into Tuesday. And despite Tampa Bay being one of the stingiest strikeout teams in baseball, he punched out eight Rays last week. The Colorado Rockies are currently striking out at a 24.4% clip against right-handed pitching, which is tied for the third-highest mark in the league, per FanGraphs. This is a prime spot.

Best Bet: Chase Burns Over 6.5 Strikeouts FanDuel, -140

MLB Player Props Today: Shane Baz Under 4.5 Strikeouts

Shane Baz under 4.5 strikeouts is one of my favorite MLB player props today at +108 on FanDuel Sportsbook. The price is what makes this intriguing.

Baz has flashed brilliance at times this season, but right now he's profiling as a pretty average MLB pitcher. Per Baseball Savant, he ranks in just the 28th percentile in strikeout rate and the 40th percentile in whiff rate, with pedestrian marks across several other advanced categories. He simply isn't missing many bats.

The Houston Astros matchup makes this even cleaner. Houston owns the third-lowest strikeout rate in the league against right-handed pitching so far this season. Per AddMoreFunds, seven of their projected starters are striking out less than 20% of the time against righties in 2026. This is one of the toughest possible matchups for a pitcher with Baz's current profile. Getting plus money on this under is extremely reasonable.

Best Bet: Shane Baz Under 4.5 Strikeouts FanDuel, +108

Home Run Picks Today: Juan Soto and Ronny Mauricio

For my MLB home run bets today, we're going back to Zack Littell, who might have the worst pitching profile in baseball right now. Per Baseball Savant, Littell ranks in the 8th percentile or worse in expected ERA, expected batting average, fastball velocity, average exit velocity, whiff percentage, strikeout percentage, and barrel rate. He's not keeping balls on the ground, and he's getting hit hard. It's ugly.

Left-handed hitters have absolutely feasted on him this season. Littell has allowed nine home runs to lefties, who are slugging a ridiculous .810 with an expected ISO above .400 against him. He's striking out just 7.9% of left-handed hitters this season.

Juan Soto at +298 on DraftKings Sportsbook isn't the most generous number, but the matchup is so lopsided that it still provides real value. If you want to go a little bigger, Ronny Mauricio at +526 on DraftKings is a nice sprinkle in what might be one of the best home run matchups on the board today by split and pitcher profile.

Best Bet: Juan Soto to Hit a Home Run DraftKings, +298
