We're back on Saturday with my best MLB bets today for April 25! We've got a strikeout over on one of the most exciting young arms in baseball, a workload-driven under on a Phillies 'ace making his 2026 debut, and home run picks today targeting a power hitter with a perfect matchup. Let's get into it.

Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for April 25

Noah Schultz over 4.5 strikeouts is one of my favorite MLB best bets today at -135 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Chicago White Sox's top pitching prospect has two MLB starts under his belt, and the trajectory is already pointing in the right direction.

Schultz has thrown 82 pitches in each of his first two outings. In his first start against Tampa Bay (one of the most stingy strikeout lineups in the league), he punched out four hitters despite what were likely some first-start jitters. In start two against the A's, he posted six strikeouts. The pitch count in the 80s is going to be his range again Saturday, and against this Washington lineup, that's more than enough runway to clear 4.5.

The Nationals are striking out at the sixth-highest clip against left-handed pitchers so far in 2026. Schultz was dominant from a strikeout perspective throughout the minor league system. As he gets more comfortable facing MLB hitters, a reasonable strikeout rate is only going to tick up. This number is very fair for where he is right now.

Best Bet: Noah Schultz Over 4.5 Strikeouts DraftKings, -135

MLB Player Props Today: Zack Wheeler Under 5.5 Strikeouts

Zack Wheeler under 5.5 strikeouts is one of the most straightforward MLB player props today at -120 on DraftKings Sportsbook. This is a workload play, plain and simple.

Wheeler is making his first MLB start of the 2026 season after a lengthy absence following rib surgery. His velocity was down during rehab starts at Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and there is no reason to expect the Phillies to push him hard in his return.

Philadelphia is off to a miserable start this season and needs Wheeler for the long haul. They are not going to burn him out in April. The fact that his pitching outs prop is heavily juiced under 15.5 tells you the oddsmakers agree he's going to be fairly limited Saturday.

Even if the workload concern wasn't there, a pitcher coming back with diminished velocity against the Atlanta Braves isn't exactly a prime strikeout spot. The matchup and the pitch count both point in the same direction.

Home Run Picks Today: Jake Burger

For my MLB home run bets today, Jake Burger at +360 on FanDuel Sportsbook to go deep against Athletics starter Jeffrey Springs is the play. Burger posted a .272 expected ISO against left-handed pitchers last season, and he has serious pop in this split.

Springs struggled against right-handed hitters last year, allowing a .200 ISO overall against righties. He threw his fastball more than 40% of the time against right-handed hitters and yielded a .243 expected ISO on that pitch alone.

He's a fairly predictable pitcher in this matchup, and Burger is built to punish exactly this type of lefty. If you want to sprinkle some longer odds, lefty Brandon Nimmo is available at +500 or better in this same game and is also worth a look against Springs. Spring only allowed a few home runs against LHB last season, but he's already given up two in 2026.

Best Bet: Jake Burger to Hit a Home Run FanDuel, +360
