MLB Today’s Best Bets for April 15: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props
We're back for some Wednesday MLB props action on April 15, and the best MLB bets today are centered around one matchup that's screaming value. The Pittsburgh Pirates are sending a loaded left-handed lineup against Jake Irvin of the Washington Nationals, so the home run picks today are lining up beautifully. Let's get into it.
Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for April 15
Oneil Cruz of the Pittsburgh Pirates over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs is standing out as one of my favorite MLB player props today. You can get this prop at -144 on DraftKings Sportsbook. This is all about Jake Irvin, and it's the same story, different year.
According to Baseball Savant, Irvin's page is covered in blue this season. He ranks in the 4th percentile in barrel rate, 10th percentile in hard-hit rate, and 5th percentile in ground-ball rate. His xERA sits at nearly 5.50. That's bad news for him and great news for hitters.
Left-handed batters have been Irvin's true Achilles' heel. He gave up a massive 38 home runs last year — 26 of them to left-handed hitters, who owned a .286 batting average, a .384 wOBA, and a .554 slugging percentage against him. There's no sugarcoating it. He's throwing his fastball around 40% of the time to lefties, and it gets punished.
The Pirates are projected to roll out a loaded left-handed lineup at the top of the order, which features Brandon Lowe, Bryan Reynolds, Oneil Cruz, and Ryan O'Hearn. All of them are in tremendous spots. Most of these lines are juiced, but this entire angle will make for a fun same game parlay.
Best Bet: Oneil Cruz Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs DraftKings, -144
MLB Player Props Today: Jake Irvin Under 15.5 Pitching Outs
Next up on the best MLB bets today card — and staying in this same game — is Jake Irvin under 15.5 pitching outs at -151 on DraftKings Sportsbook. If you like MLB player props hit rates, Irvin hasn't pitched more than five innings in any game this season, and I don't think that's a hard cap. He's just struggled. Lefties give him so many problems, and he's projected to see five really good ones with strong splits against righties.
Spencer Horwitz is also worth noting here, and that's because he struck out at just a 16% clip against right-handed pitchers last year, which means even the bottom of Pittsburgh's order can give Irvin trouble. His earned run prop is set at 3.5, so oddsmakers are implying a rough day. I think Pittsburgh can get to him early enough that he gets pulled at or before five innings.
Best Bet: Jake Irvin Under 15.5 Pitching Outs DraftKings, -151

These lefties are in arguably the best home run spot on the entire slate. It's going to be nearly 80 degrees with a slight breeze blowing out to left field around first pitch, which is awesome hitting weather. That's partially why Brandon Lowe is one of the best home run picks today.
You can get this prop at +390 on FanDuel Sportsbook. Lowe had a .258 ISO against right-handed pitchers in 2025. Against right-handed fastballs specifically, he posted a massive .348 ISO. Irvin is throwing that pitch about 40% of the time to lefties. He can't keep the ball on the ground, and his barrel rate is among the worst in baseball. I like all of these lefties — at least one of them is going to go yard today.
Best Bet: Brandon Lowe to Hit a Home Run FanDuel, +390

I'm a big believer in correlating your same game parlays and telling a story where all the variables connect. On BetMGM, you could go with Brandon Lowe and Oneil Cruz each recording 2+ hits + runs + RBIs. You can then add Pittsburgh's team total over 4.5 runs to make the slip +195 odds. You could also add a Jake Irvin under leg to that slip for even better odds.
That's it for my MLB bets today, including today's top MLB HR picks. Good luck!
