MLB Today’s Best Bets for April 14: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props

Tuesday's MLB slate has plenty of fun matchups, and we're breaking down the best MLB bets today for April 14. We have a strikeout prop on one of the game's premier arms, a Jacob Misiorowski over at plus odds, and home run picks today at one of the most hitter-friendly parks in baseball. Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for April 14

Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Los Angeles Dodgers has some intriguing MLB player props today. Let's roll with under 6.5 strikeouts at -120 on FanDuel Sportsbook. The Dodgers host the Mets at 10:10 PM Eastern at Dodger Stadium.

I can't sugarcoat it — the Mets have been absolutely terrible this season. But if there's one thing they've lived up to, it's being a stingy team from a strikeout perspective. New York has struck out just 20% of the time against right-handed pitchers so far in 2026. That should make this prop very competitive for Yamamoto to go under.

Yamamoto has been as advertised — a sparkling ERA, and his pitch count has reached 97, so the Dodgers are giving him a long leash. But he hasn't eclipsed 6.5 strikeouts in any start this season. When you dig into the Baseball Savant advanced metrics, his chase rate and whiff rate sit at just the 54th and 56th percentile, respectively.

The Mets are projected to start four hitters who struck out at a 20% clip or less against right-handed pitchers in 2025, including new additions Bo Bichette and Jorge Polanco. This is one of the best MLB bets today.

MLB Player Props Today: Jacob Misiorowski Over 6.5 Strikeouts

Jacob Misiorowski of the Milwaukee Brewers makes my list of MLB best bets today. His line is sitting at over 6.5 strikeouts at -118 on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Blue Jays typically aren't a big strikeout team, but their lineup looks a little different today due to injuries.

Eloy Jimenez is projected to start for Toronto after getting called up. Jimenez had all the hype in the world as a White Sox prospect a few years ago but never caught on, then spent time in the Tampa Bay minor league organization without cracking big-league playing time.

Strikeouts have been an issue for him at all levels the past couple of years. Brandon Valenzuela will continue to start for the injured Alejandro Kirk, who typically sports a minuscule K rate — but it's been a rough go for Valenzuela in a small sample. And while I think Kazuma Okamoto will eventually be a star, he's striking out at a clip north of 40% against right-handed pitchers in a small sample to start his big-league career.

Misiorowski struck out a whopping 38% of left-handed hitters last season and is projected to see four of them in the Blue Jays lineup. He's been incredible to start 2026, ranking in the 97th percentile in whiff percentage and the 99th percentile in strikeout percentage. The kid is a monster. If you're hunting for today's top MLB player prop picks, this is one of the best on the slate.

Home Run Picks Today: Jake Burger

Jake Burger of the Texas Rangers will battle Athletics starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento. It's one of the most hitter-friendly venues in baseball during its second stint while the new A's stadium is being built, which is partially why Burger is one of my favorite MLB home run picks today.

Springs allowed a .200 ISO to right-handed batters last season. He threw his fastball over 40% of the time to righties with a .216 ISO allowed on that pitch — those are significant power numbers. Burger has been an animal lately, coming off a massive day, and I know people are reluctant to bet on a guy going deep in back-to-back games. I don't share that hesitancy, especially when the numbers check out.

Last year, Burger had a .272 expected ISO against left-handed pitchers in 100 plate appearances. In a limited sample, he posted a .377 expected ISO against left-handed fastballs. He's in great form, the matchup is elite, and the ballpark dimensions play right into his hands.

It's projected to be around 65 degrees with a slight breeze blowing out at first pitch — you could do a lot worse for the middle of April.
