MLB Today’s Best Bets for 04/20: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props
It’s a solid 10-game slate on the diamond to kick off your work week Monday, starting at 11:10 am ET when the Tigers and Red Sox collide for a Patriots’ Day matinee at Fenway Park. The schedule gives plenty of opportunities to find the best MLB bets today, including the top home run props. After looking over the slate, we’ve identified our favorite plays to bolster your bankroll. Without further ado, let’s get to the best options on the board for Monday, April 20.
Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for 04/20
Justin Wrobleski, Dodgers, Under 3.5 Strikeouts (+140, FanDuel): Wrobleski has been a surprise in the early going this season. He is 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA and a 0.76 WHIP over 17 innings of work on the year. That includes eight shutout frames of two-hit ball in a 4-0 win over the Mets in his last outing. The one thing missing from Wrobleski’s ledger? That would be punchouts. He simply hasn’t fanned guys with any kind of consistency. Wrobleski has fanned just six of the 63 hitters he’s faced this season. Pitching at Coors, where breaking balls flatten out, don’t expect big whiff numbers here either.
Jose Ramirez, Guardians Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140, Fanatics): Ramirez has been a little feast or famine of late. He has been held hitless in four of his last 10 games. In five of the other six contests in that stretch, Ramirez has at least three total bases. That includes eight bags Sunday after he went deep twice against the Orioles. Houston’s pitching staff hands out hits and runs like Oprah gives gifts to her studio audience. Expect Ramirez to have a solid night at the dish, especially playing at home, in what could be a slugfest.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Blue Jays Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110, Fanatics): Guerrero Jr. hasn’t had the power game reach his usual mark yet this season but he’s hitting for average. He ran his hitting streak to 10 games with a three for five showing Sunday against Arizona. Guerrero Jr. hasn’t homered in that stretch but he has five doubles. He also has five multi-hit contests in that span to his credit. With the way Guerrero Jr. is seeing the ball, it wouldn’t be surprising to see another multi-hit showing or a shot in the gap for extra bases.

Kyle Schwarber (+375, Fanatics): Schwarber, along with the rest of the Philadelphia bats, have yet to wake up so far this year. He’s hitting just .227 and has fanned 32 times in 75 at-bats this season. With that said, Schwarber does have seven homers among his 17 hits this season. That includes a shot in Philadelphia’s 4-2 loss to the Braves Sunday night.
As it stands, if there is a park Schwarber is familiar with, it’s the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field. He spent 2015-20 with the Cubs, winning a World Series ring in 2016. In 288 career games at Wrigley Field, he has hit 62 homers. Look for him to take Colin Rea deep in this one.
Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers (+220, FanDuel): Ohtani homered twice last weekend at home but enters this one without a long ball in his last five games. He is at Coors Field though, which is well known for giving up the long ball. Ohtani didn’t homer Sunday but he did double twice in a 9-6 Dodgers defeat. He’s facing 37-year-old Jose Quintana here in the series finale. While he hasn’t faced Quintana a ton in his career, he has had success. Ohtani is three of seven with four walks in his career against the lefty. What’s even better? All three hits have ended up in the seats. That track record is enough to get behind here.
