MLB Today’s Best Bets for 04/12/26: Home Run Picks & Top Player Props

It’s a full 15-game slate on the diamond to finish your weekend Sunday, starting at 1:35 pm ET when the Diamondbacks face the Phillies. The schedule gives plenty of opportunities to find the best MLB bets today, including the top home run props. After looking over the slate, we’ve identified our favorite plays to bolster your bankroll. Without further ado, let’s get to the best options on the board for Sunday, April 12.

Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for April 12

Jacob deGrom, Rangers Over 14.5 Outs (-140, Fanatics): It’s just the third start of the season for deGrom but he’s looked sound enough in his first two outings. He went 4.2 innings against the Orioles and struck out seven in his debut. His last time out, deGrom threw five innings and allowed just one hit while fanning six. In his last 15 starts, we’ve seen deGrom go at least five innings 14 times. He’s thrown just 79 and 78 pitches in his first two starts, so he should be able to go a little longer here. Take the over as deGrom goes at least five frames and potentially come out for the sixth.

Oneil Cruz Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120, Fanatics): Cruz has been better at the plate in the opening couple weeks of the season. He’s hitting a robust .345 with four homers, 12 RBI and five steals in six attempts. Cruz had four hits in Saturday’s extra inning victory. He has at least one hit in each of his last 10 games. Cruz recorded at least two total bases in six of those games. He’s recorded 32 total bases in that stretch. Hitting near the top of the order as a table setter and not chasing as many pitches puts him in a good situation.  With Cruz seeing the ball well, look for him to stay hot here.

Sandy Alcantara, Marlins Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+106, FanDuel): Alcantara makes his fourth start of the year here and faces a Tigers team that isn’t afraid to swing the lumber. Detroit is 19th in strikeout rate on the year, fanning 8.93 times per game. Alcantara has been fantastic this season, going 2-0 with a 0.74 ERA on the year. While most starters are going five or maybe six innings, Alcantara has gone at least seven in all three starts. He’s fanned 18 hitters so far this year. With guys like Javy Baez and Spencer Torkelson in the mix, Alcantara should be able to get at least six whiffs while dueling with Tarik Skubal.

Home Run Picks Today

Kyle Schwarber (+268, DraftKings): Rodriguez, along with most of the rest of the Seattle bats, have yet to wake up. He’s hitting just .188 and has fanned 23 times in 48 at-bats this season. With that said, Schwarber does have four homers among his nine hits this season. That includes a shot in Philadelphia’s 4-3 win Saturday afternoon.

As it stands, Schwarber has had success against Diamondbacks’ starter Zac Gallen, who is on the bump Sunday. He is five of 17 (.294) against Gallen with a double, three homers and six RBI in his career. Schwarber has a 1.282 OPS against Gallen in that small sample size. Look for him to go yard here.

Freddie Freeman, Dodgers (+536, DraftKings): Freeman has homered three times this season and driven in 13 runs in 58 at-bats on the year. He has the most experience facing Jacob deGrom of anyone on the Dodgers’ lineup. Freeman has 69 career at-bats against deGrom. While he has just a .232 average with 21 strikeouts, he does have three homers against him. Freeman will get his share of pitches to hit with the Dodgers having such a loaded lineup to rely on. He could surprise with the long ball here.
