It’s a pretty hefty 13-game slate on the diamond to kick off your work week Monday, starting at 4:10 pm ET when the Cubs face the Rays. That game marks baseball’s return to Tropicana Field. The schedule gives plenty of opportunities to find the best MLB bets today, including the top home run props. After looking over the slate, we’ve identified our favorite plays to bolster your bankroll. Without further ado, let’s get to the best options on the board for Monday, April 6. Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for April 6

Christian Walker, Astros Over 0.5 RBI (+111, DraftKings): Walker has plenty going for him in this spot to start the new week. For starters, he’s hitting in the heart of a Houston lineup that averages seven runs a game on the year. He’s already recorded six doubles, two homers and 11 RBI on the season.

Did I mention the Astros are at Coors Field to start the week? If that’s not enough for you, Colorado sends Ryan Feltner to the mound. Walker is five of nine with two doubles, two homers and six RBI in his career against Feltner.

Kerry Carpenter Over 0.5 Hits (-155, DraftKings): Carpenter, after a slow start, got going over the weekend. He had four hits in the three-game set with the Cardinals after recording just two in his first six games. That included homers on Saturday and Sunday, his first two of the year. Detroit now heads to the Twin Cities to take on the Twins in an AL Central series.

Carpenter is four of eight in his career against Twins’ ace Joe Ryan. He has a double, a homer and five RBI against Ryan, slugging an even 1.000 against him. Carpenter found himself a bit against the Cardinals and it’s a safe bet that he gets at least one knock here.

Bubba Chandler Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-151, DraftKings): Chandler was inconsistent at best in his first start of the year, which came against the Reds. He threw 4.1 innings, allowing one run (none earned) on no hits with six strikeouts. The problem was that he handed out six free passes in the contest, which ran up his pitch count. Chandler faces a Padres team that is whiffing at the 10th-lowest rate in baseball.

San Diego has a talented lineup with veteran hitters. The Padres will work Chandler into deep counts, put the ball in play and knock him out early. Chandler may get to four or five strikeouts but he doesn’t get to six.

Home Run Picks Today:

Julio Rodriguez (+451, DraftKings): Rodriguez, along with most of the rest of the Seattle bats, have yet to wake up. He’s hitting just .154 and has yet to record an extra-base hit. With that said, Rodriguez is a much better hitter (.291/.346/.502) on the road than at home (.252/.313/.423) in his career. He’s hitting .314 with four doubles, six homers and 25 RBI in 118 at-bats at Globe Life Field.

Expect favorable conditions in Texas, which can only help the hitters on both sides. Jacob deGrom gets the ball for the Rangers, which could help Rodriguez. He is five of 11 with a home run against deGrom in his career. This is the perfect time for him to get his first of the year.

Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers (+180, Fanatics): Ohtani returns to the venue where he was involved in the Dodgers winning the World Series last year. He has had success in Toronto in his career, hitting .288 with four home runs and 12 RBI in 59 at-bats at Rogers Centre. Ohtani hit his second home of the year at Washington Sunday afternoon. Both his homers on the season came in the series with the Nationals. With the roof closed and chilly temperatures outside, the weather won’t impede Ohtani. He’s five of 10 with two doubles and a homer against Max Scherzer in his career. Look for him to go yard in this one.
