Best MLB Bets Today: Player Props for August 22
George Springer, Blue Jays Over 1.5 Total Bases Talk about teams that had a massive letdown, one need look no further than the Blue Jays. After taking the Dodgers to Game 7 of the World Series last season and investing in free agency, they entered Friday 63-66 and a half-game out of the final AL wild card spot. Springer has tailed off this season, hitting just .235 with 15 doubles, two triples, 12 homers and 40 RBI on the year. On the plus side, he hits Ryan Weathers well in his career. Springer is three-for-eight (.375) against the Yankees hurler in his career. In addition, two of the three hits left the yard. With the friendly dimensions in the Bronx, he gets the job done. Byron Buxton, Twins Over 1.5 Total Bases [conversion-link operator=451(-110, FanDuel)
Buxton has dealt with injury issues, which is no deviation from the norm, again this season. He entered Friday hitting .256 with 17 doubles, a triple, 25 homers and 46 RBI on the year. Buxton and the Twins are one of seven teams within three games of the final wild card spot in the American League playoff picture. Minnesota faces the Padres in interleague action but face a familiar pitcher in Casey Mize, who was dealt at the trade deadline. Buxton is 8-for-23 (.348) against Mize in his career. Meanwhile, he recorded three doubles, two homers and four RBI in those at-bats. He cashes in here for the Twins.
Francisco Lindor, Mets Over 1.5 Total Bases It’s been a disappointing season for Lindor and the Mets in general in 2026. He went into Friday’s action hitting just .239 with seven doubles, four triples, 12 homers and 39 RBI on the year. While it’s been a disappointment, the fact remains that there are some pitchers that Lindor hits well. One of those happens to be Saturday’s starter for the White Sox, Luis Castillo. It’s been a difficult campaign for Castillo as well. He’s 4-9 with a 4.99 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP over 115.1 innings of work. Lindor is eight-for-15 (.533) in his career against Castillo. In addition, he has three doubles and two homers off Castillo. He has a big day here.

Mickey Moniak, Rockies [conversion-link operator=451(+340, FanDuel)
The Rockies haven’t been great this season but Moniak has found his power stroke. After clubbing 24 homers in 135 games last season for Colorado, he’s turned the power up in 2026. Moniak enters the weekend hitting .264 but has 20 homers in 307 at-bats on the year. Meanwhile, that puts him on pace for what would be a career-high 25 bombs this season. Game-time temperatures are in the low 70s, which isn’t as hot as expected. Moniak has crushed 16 homers in 169 at-bats at Coors Field this season. If he gets one in the air, it’s got a chance to go.
Max Muncy, Dodgers
Muncy started the year strong, slamming nine homers by the end of April, and kept hitting since. He drilled his 26th homer of the year in Friday’s opener against the Pirates. While he has limited experience against James Jones (one-for-two with a double), we know the pop is in his bat. If it’s a tight game and the Pirates go to their bullpen, Muncy is 7-for-23 against Luke Weaver. In addition, he has two doubles and three homers in those at-bats. With temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s and winds blowing out to right-center, Muncy can do damage here.
