Today, I have one wager in MLB bets, at least as far as the evening slate goes (I also like Detroit around -165 if you read this before the early games). Just the woebegone Cardinals for me, at least at this relatively early juncture, with some pitching matchups remaining up the air.
Yesterday, I managed to bounce back from a tough holiday weekend thanks to the Mets and a late add on the Orioles for a 2-0 day. That brings me to 151-122, +21.25u, all at widely available lines posted in our free Discord linked below.

St. Louis Cardinals At Miami Marlins
Notes for this game:
- Jack Flaherty’s handedness splits are pretty extreme. He’s been about average versus right-handed hitters and terrible against lefties, posting ERA estimators around 5 when he doesn’t have the platoon advantage.
- Miami has a heavily right-leaning lineup. They have performed markedly better against left-handed pitching this year (120 wRC+ to 93 against RHP).
- Eury Perez’s career is off to a tremendous start, but a St. Louis lineup that’s seventh against RHP presents a large challenge.
- While both teams taxed their pens heavily in Wednesday’s 10-9 slugfest, the Cardinals got 5 IP out of their long relievers, so they have a bit more ammo in the bullpen today.
