Memorial Tournament Odds: Final Round PGA TOUR Golf Bets
The tournament at Jack’s place has been considered the premiere tournament on the PGA TOUR’s summer schedule for many years now, and with the newly marked elevated status of the event, the stakes are bigger than ever this year at Muirfield Village. While the Memorial Tournament has suffered through tough weather many times over the years, Jack Nicklaus has finally gotten the firm and fast test this week that he’s wanted since renovating the course. The result has been a brutally hard challenge for players and a jam-packed leaderboard that has the Memorial Tournament odds board looking like anybody’s trophy to win.
Tournament Recap Through First Three Rounds
If there’s been a place you don’t want to be after a completed round this week, it’s the solo lead. Thursday at Muirfield Village presented us with a leaderboard that you certainly wouldn’t expect for an elevated event that also has invitational status on the PGA TOUR. Davis Riley held the solo lead at 5 under. Riley has mostly struggled this year, with his only real success coming in a team-event win with Nick Hardy at the Zurich Classic. The Memorial Tournament odds board didn’t believe in many of the names at the top, as it still favored guys like Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm and Patrick Cantlay to eventually get the job done.
Friday featured a new surprising name at the top, though maybe not as much so as Riley. Justin Suh’s second-round 66 shot him up into the solo lead at 8 under, one shot ahead of former Memorial winner Hideki Matsuyama. While Suh is still a fresh name, he’s contended in some big events already this year … including the PLAYERS and the PGA Championship a few weeks ago. Riley completely fell off the board on Friday with a second-round 78, narrowly even making the cut.
Players struggling to create separation at the top
The fate for the 36-hole leader was once again poor on Saturday. Suh came out of the gates with a bogey-bogey-double bogey to start to immediately fall well down the leaderboard. He would eventually shoot 77 to fall into a tie for 14th and three shots back of the lead. It seemed players were realizing the fate of our solo leaders this week, as anyone who started to take a lead on Saturday found quick trouble. Matsuyama and Cantlay both made triple bogeys and sit three shots back. David Lipsky carried a two-shot lead late but finished with consecutive bogeys.
That put Lipsky in a share of the 54-hole lead with Rory McIlroy and Si Woo Kim. Thirteen players sit within two shots of the lead, while 22 players are within three. It will make for a wild Sunday at Jack’s place in tough conditions. McIlroy, who with Viktor Hovland is the only big name in the top eight, has been fighting his game as of late, and this is a tournament he has long wanted to win.

Let’s be honest … with this many players close to the lead at a course surrendering a ton of big numbers, it’s as much of a crapshoot heading into the final round as you’ll ever see. Because of that, I don’t think it’s smart at all to take a name with a small number heading into Sunday.
Clark the best value for Sunday
While I could sit here and try to convince you on a handful of names with decent odds for the final round, I think taking one is probably the better choice. Wyndham Clark is the name that interests me most with a solid number and a real chance of grabbing a second victory of 2023. Clark dominated the final round of the Wells Fargo before the PGA Championship, and he has a chance to do something similar on another hard golf course on Sunday.
He sits just one behind the lead but still shows a juicy number on the Memorial Tournament odds board. Clark is one of three players who has posted an under-par score in all three rounds this week. As we know, all facets of his game have been clicking this year, and that’s no different this week. He’s gaining in all four categories, including 10th in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (2.789) and 12th in Strokes Gained: Putting (3.46). Perhaps more importantly, Clark finally got the irons going on Saturday and could put up a much more impressive number in approach on Sunday than he has all week.
With McIlroy struggling with his game as of late and Viktor Hovland putting in a lot of high-effort rounds in the last three weeks, Clark is the guy I like the most here. Sportsbooks don’t seem to be respecting his elite play this year on the odds board as he sits in a tie for fourth and one shot back heading into an entertaining Sunday.

Top-10 Finish: Jon Rahm

We’re seeing some wild numbers on the placement markets for the final round because of how many names could easily finish inside the top five or top 10. When there is this much variance and a golf course this hard, I think the smart thing to do is pick a horse and watch them work in a final round.
We’ve seen just how many times Jon Rahm has done this in the past, and I think he’s in a spot to do it again in the final round at Muirfield Village. Rahm is currently sitting T23 after a disappointing 74 on Saturday. He could have easily moved himself into contention for another 2023 title, but the putter was ice cold.
That’s been his issue all week, and I wouldn’t expect for it to continue. Rahm has been one of the better putters on TOUR this year, so we can’t really explain him being 62nd in Strokes Gained: Putting with 4.22 lost for the week. All it will take on Sunday is a decent round on the greens for Rahm to make up two shots on the guys in T9 and log another top 10.
Top-10 Finish: Scottie Scheffler

I’m going with the exact same strategy here with World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, although we don’t even need him to do anything positive on the greens. Scheffler is one more shot back of the top 10 in a tie for 32nd currently. Scheffler was the best on the course on Saturday from tee-to-green as he gained 4.1 shots there and fired a 68 to give himself a chance at a decent week after making the cut on the number.
It’s been another disastrous week on the greens for him, as he’s dead last in the field in putting with 6.9 shots lost on the greens in three rounds. But the third round was a bit better, as he lost under a stroke for the day with the flat stick.
Scheffler has a little more ground to make up, as he’s three shots back of the top-10 placement currently. But as the best ball striker in the world by a considerable margin right now, Scheffler is going to love a tough golf course on Sunday. If he can just be field-average on the greens, he has a great chance to charge into another top 10 and cashing out this juicy number.
