Tournament Notes

Tournament-favorite NC Central () rides a seven-game win streak into postseason play. Two of their final three wins came over the other contending teams — Howard and Norfolk State — despite both coming at home. Notably, the win over Norfolk State came without their leading scorer Joe Bryant Jr. The two-time MEAC Tournament MVP will be active for postseason play.

Norfolk State () is a two-time defending MEAC tournament champion while NC Central won three straight from 2017-19. The Spartans get a hometown boost, playing home games just two miles from Norfolk Scope Arena.

Howard () closed out their regular season with a convincing victory over Norfolk State, holding Bryant to just nine points. The Bison finished 4-2 against the top three other teams in the conference this season.

Central is the only team riding a win streak longer than two games coming in.
