Can Anyone Catch Norfolk State?

Norfolk State (21-6, 12-2) is the odds-on favorite for a reason. They finished the regular season three games ahead of second-seed Howard (16-12, 9-5). If you’re looking to take the favorites in this tournament, look to FanDuel Sportsbook who offers them at their shortest price, -180. The offense runs through senior guard Joe Bryant (16.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game), who also won the MEAC Player of the Year.

Howard stands alone as a clear runner-up at both DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel. However, they’ve benefitted from one of the easiest schedules in the nation (ranked 353rd per ESPN’s Strength of Schedule tool). They’re led by senior Kyle Foster, who is scoring 16.1 points per game, third in the MEAC. The Bison fell to Norfolk State in the regular season finale, 83-61, and again near the beginning of conference play, 77-74.

Coppin State (+950 at FanDuel) is the only other team with shorter than 10-1 odds in the MEAC Tournament. The middle of odds boards gets crowded with all the other teams sans Delaware State (2-25, 0-14) being between 10-1 and 20-1.
