The Match IV Odds

The big bomber Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers are sizable favorites in this exhibition against their elder statesmen opponents. Major legal sportsbooks have the DeChambeau-Rodgers team lined with an implied probability to win at about 64-66%

Is that too short given the rules of this exhibition? Tough to say. Tom Brady has an official handicap of 8.1, according to Golf.com. While that’s good for pedestrian golfers, Aaron Rodgers has an official handicap of 4.6, according to USGA, though Rodgers said in a Golf.com interview that his best is a 3.5.

“BetMGM opened DeChambeau-Rodgers as -150 favorites to win The Match IV. The book has taken sharp action on Bryson and Aaron to win the match and has made DeChambeau-Rodgers larger -185 favorites,” said BetMGM sports trader Halvor Egeland.

“Although Brady (8.1 official handicap) and Mickelson have built chemistry playing together in previous Match iterations, Rodgers (4.6 handicap) enters the tournament as an avid golfer—he also boasts a proven track record having played in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am several times among other celebrity competitions,” DraftKings Sportsbook director Johnny Avello noted.
