effect of Tiger’s absence at masters
For the first time since his tragic car accident in 2021, the five-time Masters champion won’t battle the ups and downs of the course at Augusta National Golf Club for a shot at taking home another green jacket. Woods suffered a torn Achilles in March, terminating his 2025 season before it began.
Sherman noted that the Westgate offered a bevy of Woods-related props for the Masters, even during his decline. In recent years, the betting handle on Woods to make or miss the cut at Augusta was similar to that of a lower-tier NFL game. For those unfamiliar, the handle refers to the total amount of money wagered by bettors at a sportsbook over a given period.
Additionally, Sherman stated that the SuperBook’s betting handle for the Masters is down roughly eight percent compared to the last few years when Woods competed.

“I haven’t seen Spieth put together four rounds this season,” Sherman said. “He hasn’t showcased any consistency. … I have more faith in Hovland at plus-money.”
