Masters Betting Money: Where Is IT Going?
BetMGM reports receiving the most action on Rory McIlroy by ticket and handle percentages. McIlroy enters the 2025 Masters on fire, winning two of five events this year. He also enters with an extensive history of success at August National, having finished in the top 10 seven times in 16 tries.
Everything seems to point to McIlroy’s winning his elusive first Masters, and the betting public has noticed.
Top three in BetMGM ticket percentages:
- Rory McIlroy 10.8%
- Scottie Scheffler 8.3%
- Bryson DeChambeau 7.9%
Top three in BetMGM handle percentages:
- Rory McIlroy 16.2%
- Scottie Scheffler 12.5%
- Bryson DeChambeau 8.7%
BetMGM reports that McIlroy, DeChambeau, and Ludvig Aberg represent this year’s top liabilities.
Surprisingly enough, BetMGM’s numbers mean they’d be completely fine with a Scheffler win. Scheffler has hardly embarrassed himself this season, with three top-10 finishes and nothing worse than a T25. However, he hasn’t found his groove, certainly not nearly to the extent of his 2024 form. Last year, Scheffler won the Masters as part of a stretch of four wins in five starts.

How Much Is The Purse For The Masters?
This year’s Masters features $20 million in prize money. While that might look like a staggering figure, TheLines’ resident golf expert, John Haslbauer, noted that it’s the smallest purse out of golf majors — even smaller than several signature events.
How Much Do Masters Tickets Cost?
Readers may be surprised to learn that Masters tickets cost an eminently reasonable $140 per day. However, those wishing to get in have to get lucky and win the opportunity to buy a ticket through a lottery.
Here are the cheapest tickets listed on the secondary market StubHub for each day of the Masters:
- Thursday $16,559
- Friday $14,039
- Saturday $15,624
- Sunday $31,050
