What To Know About The Cut At The Masters
The cut line for the Masters is generally around +4. In recent years, it has been as high as +6 and as low as par. The latter came during the favorable scoring conditions in 2020 that produced a -20 champion (Dustin Johnson). For reference, the cut line for the 2024 Masters was 150 (or +6).
From 1962 through 2012, the cut line was the low 44 players and those within 10 strokes of the tournament leader. From 2013 until 2019, the low 50 and ties, plus those within 10 strokes of the leader, advanced to Saturday. Ahead of the 2020 Masters, the 10-shot rule was removed, and the cut was changed to its current format.
The top 50 and ties will move on to the weekend rounds, making the cut and cashing props for bettors.
The top players, like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Collin Morikawa, have extremely favorable odds to make the cut. Their prices imply a greater than 81.8% chance or better of making the cut. Meanwhile, golfers like Justin Thomas, Sergio Garcia, and Wyndham Clark missed last year's cut.
