Among approved applicants include the likes of Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, and FanDuel who have all begun accepting pre-registration. These operators are also offering pre-live promotions in celebration of the upcoming launch.
Approved Online Operators
While no launch date has been set outside of the target for before Thanksgiving, Caesars’ banner reflects a November 23rd launch. This would be the day before Thanksgiving., sticking to the targeted timeline. Caesars Sportsbook is already available for download in Maryland.
Marylanders Close To Mobile Betting
Maryland online sportsbooks now need one final step before officially being able to launch in the Old Line State. This step involves final approvals from Maryland Lottery and Gaming. The staff will test sportsbooks to ensure they operate properly. This final phase will be completed in the coming days.
“Our staff has been in continuous contact with these mobile sports wagering businesses, and has already guided them through many of the necessary steps,” said John Martin, Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director in an official press release. “The last hurdle is for them to have controlled demonstrations, and SWARC’s approval of licenses on Wednesday would clear the way for that to happen.”
The 10 sportsbooks that were approved aren’t the only operators that will launch in Maryland. The Old Line State agreed on a staggered launch. These 10 are the first batch of sportsbooks that will be coming to Maryland.
The Maryland market is entering a new wave with online sports betting.
