Sweet 16 Best Bet
Looking for a first bet at these books but don’t know where to start?
I’m taking the points with the Michigan Wolverines +8.5 (-102) against Auburn this Friday. Michigan entered the tournament off a Big Ten Championship win and was seriously under-seeded (likely a product of the bracket being set before Sunday’s title games wrapped up). Since then, the Wolverines extinguished the flames on a 30-win UC San Diego squad and pulled away from Texas A&M in an otherwise tight match. On the other side, Auburn sputtered into the NCAA Tournament and showed vulnerability against each of its first two foes (including No. 16 seed Alabama State for much of the first half).
Auburn has a decent counter for Michigan’s seven-footers, Vladislav Goldin and Danny Wolf. But in each of its last three high-leverage games, Michigan found sparks from other players, including Roddy Gayle Jr., who dropped 26 in the Round of 32 win over Texas A&M. Despite shooting under 30% from three in that game, Michigan found 91 points to put up. Defensively, the Wolverines have the chops to keep the game within reason.
Expect a hard-fought rebounding battle between two strong rebounding teams. Auburn gets a tough Sweet 16 draw for being the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament. While +8.5 is the bet, I’m adding stock in Michigan +325 outright.
Best of luck betting this weekend!
