The Elite 8 constitutes the regional finals, with the four winners advancing to the prestigious Final Four.

Florida Gators vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders: opening spread

Saturday, March 29, 6:09 p.m. ET (San Francisco, CA)

No. 1 seed Florida put on another offensive clinic, handily defeating Maryland 87-71. Six Gators notched double-digit points in the effort, and Florida doubled Maryland on rebounding, 48-24. Defensively, the Gators applied the clamps, holding the Terps to 45.7% from inside the arc and less than 31.6% from the perimeter. Watch this well-balanced attack to propel Florida to the Final Four against their overmatched opponent.

Soon after, the Red Raiders overcame a 16-point second-half deficit against Arkansas. Darrion Williams hit the game-winning layup in overtime to seal the program’s first trip to the Elite Eight since 2019.

Duke Blue Devils vs. Alabama Crimson Tide: opening spread

Saturday, March 29, 8:49 p.m. ET (Newark, NJ)

A 100-93 win over Arizona sent Duke to its 25th Elite Eight in program history, the most in men’s college basketball. Freshman Cooper Flagg paced Duke with 30 points, including a first-half buzzer-beater to break the game open.

After a couple of games struggling to shoot the ball, Alabama’s nation-leading offense burst to life in a 113-88 Sweet 16 trouncing of BYU. The Crimson Tide failed to find a rhythm from beyond the arc in Cleveland but knocked down a tournament-record 25 triples in Newark on Thursday night.

Star Mark Sears also arrived at the NCAA tournament, dropping 34 on the Cougars (10 threes, second-most all-time in a tournament game). His backcourt mate, Aden Holloway, added 23, while Chris Youngblood tacked on 19.

Talk about a blockbuster. The benefit of a few upsets is getting premier matchups like Duke vs. Alabama. If the Tide repeats its record-breaking shooting performance (or, more likely, 90% of that), Alabama is in a good position to take down the tournament favorite. Duke runs a methodical pace (270th in adjusted tempo), while Alabama runs the fastest tempo of any team.

Watch for the Tide to get out and run to snatch an early lead.

Auburn eagles vs. Michigan state spartans: opening spread

Sunday, March 29, 5:05 p.m. ET (Atlanta, GA)

Last Updated on 03.28.2025

Michigan State defeated Ole Miss 73-70, overcoming a 10-point first-half deficit. Jase Richardson led the Spartans with 20 points, while Coen Carr added 15, grabbing three rebounds and one block. Sparty shot 50% from the field and hit 86.4% of their free throws, which came in clutch at the end of the second half. Ole Miss’s Sean Pedulla scored a game-high 24, but Michigan State’s late-game execution secured their spot in the Elite Eight, making it their second time in the past 5 years.

In the later game on Friday night, Auburn handled business against Michigan, cutting any hopes of the in-state rivalry in the Elite 8. Auburn took down the Wolverines 78-65, with Johni Broome leading the scoring with 22 points. The last time Auburn advanced to the Elite 8 was in 2019.

Houston cougars vs. Tennessee Volunteers: opening spread

Sunday, March 29, 2:20 p.m. ET (Indianapolis, IN)

Tennessee defeated Kentucky 78-65, advancing to the Elite Eight for the second consecutive year. The Vols established a 43-28 lead at the half and maintained control throughout. Guard Zakai Zeigler led with 18 points and 10 assists, while Chaz Lanier added 17 points. Despite Kentucky’s Andrew Carr knocking in 18 points, Tennessee’s well-rounded offense and defense ultimately secured their victory. The Volunteers also shot 50.9% from the field and forced 12 turnovers.

To cap off the Sweet 16, Purdue and Houston gave us a thriller. Houston squeaked out a 2-point win, sending them to the Elite 8 to face off against Tennessee. This closes out a round of 16 that seemingly was all chalk.
