Toledo, Kent State Lead Strong Group

Depending on what book you look at, the Toledo Rockets (25-6, 17-3) range anywhere from +165 favorites to odds-on. They’ve been the best of a solid MAC group this season and also 3-0 at neutral sites. However, they’re not the hottest team in the tournament field. That title belongs to Kent State (21-9, 16-4). The Flashes are winners of 12 straight coming into postseason play, including a resounding 72-59 thumping at Toledo.

Both Ohio (23-8, 14-6) and the Akron Zips (21-9, 14-6) recorded 20+ wins this season. If you’re looking to back an underdog, the Bobcats are bested priced at DraftKings Sportsbook (+400); DK also offers the best price on Akron (+1200). Mark Sears has been a standout for Ohio this season, averaging 19.2 points per game (second in the MAC), dishing 4.3 assists (fourth), and grabbing 1.7 steals (fifth).

Central Michigan (7-22, 6-14) barely squeaked into the tournament and will be without star player Jermaine Jackson Jr., who missed the end of the season after declaring for the NBA Draft.
