Lord Miles locked up his position in the 2023 Kentucky Derby field with a thrilling victory in the Wood Memorial. He pulled off an incredible 59-1 upset, edging out the rest of the field by a literal nose. Lord Miles was such a longshot to even qualify for the Kentucky Derby that he was not listed in closing futures odds. Unfortunately, he was forced to withdraw from the field pending an investigation into trainer Saffie Joseph Jr.
