Thursday Night Football Odds

Any movement on this game would figure to come based on how the Titans’ offense looks under new QB management. Second-round rookie Will Levis will reportedly make his starting debut in lieu of the injured Ryan Tannehill in Week 8, though Malik Willis is expected to get some snaps as well. It seems pretty certain at this point that Willis isn’t good, but if Levis can show something against a tough Falcons defense, we may see Titans odds shrink to +3.

Sunday Night Football Odds

These teams have not built up the recent history that either side has with fellow AFC heavyweight Kansas City, but that could be changing after last year’s playoff blowout in Buffalo, which went Cincinnati’s way. The Bills figure to have this game circled, but both teams enter Week 8 in a state of flux.

The Bills come off arguably their worst performance of the season, and it was the second straight in which they looked far from the Super Bowl odds contender they were supposed to be. An improved effort on defense, especially against Tampa Bay on Thursday Night Football, would go a long way toward improving market confidence.

The Bengals, meanwhile, enter Week 8 off a much-needed bye. If Joe Burrow’s leg injury has improved and the Bengals look more like their 2021-22 selves, this line likely closes with Bengals odds as a short favorite. After all, beating the 49ers on the road, albeit without Brock Purdy, would rate as one of the more impressive wins of the young season.

Monday Night Football Odds

The Chargers have scuffled in back-to-back weeks facing difficult competition, but they have a chance to right the ship somewhat against a bad Bears team at home. The market seems to anticipate good things happening to this team for once, installing Chargers odds as somewhat surprising road favorites.

Look for New York to potentially reopen as short favorites if the Chargers remain an underachieving mess. Few NFL results would be more damning than losing at home to Tyson Bagent.

Cowboys At Eagles

Much like the Chargers and Dolphins, seemingly every time the Cowboys have a chance to get a big win in the past couple of seasons, they’ve fallen flat on their faces. This road game gives them a chance to get a huge early edge in the NFC East race, but it obviously won’t come easily. Both of these teams are set up nicely as identical -6.5 favorites in Week 8.

Given the history of these divisional matchups, it would be surprising to see Eagles odds advance beyond the key number of -3, but the market juice does seem to point that way. Therefore, it may behoove Cowboys bettors to see if they can grab the hook, matching the line when the Cowboys faced San Francisco.

Chiefs Vs. Dolphins

The market expects both of these teams to roll in Week 8, and given the market respect the Chiefs, in particular, have built up, it’s hard to see the line moving any significant way short of Miami laying an egg against New England. Bettors who remember Miami’s implosions against Philly and Buffalo may be happy to lay -2.5 on Chiefs odds, but Miami probably has too much offensive firepower to be getting the full key number of +3.

Keep an eye on Miami’s injury situation, however. Both Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill enter this week’s game banged up. Should either be unable to get healthy or wind up missing this game, perhaps the number does move toward KC.
