Pistons Knicks Odds

On Monday night, the sixth-seeded Pistons upset the third-seeded Knicks at Madison Square Garden, tying their first-round series at one apiece. How should bettors approach their ensuing duel on Thursday evening? Remember that teams with a 2-1 NBA playoff series lead have gone on to win 80.1% of the time. Let’s inspect the Pistons vs. Knicks odds for Game 3.

Will Knicks ‘Rebound’?

Outside of the Knicks’ 21-0 run in the fourth quarter of Game 1, Jalen Brunson and Co. haven’t looked the part against one of the NBA’s most physical teams. In fact, the Pistons’ 48-34 rebounding advantage in Game 2 was a microcosm of that notion.

To boot, Cade Cunningham and the rest of Detroit’s ball handlers torched New York in Monday’s win, accruing 1.33 points per possession (PPP) via their pick-and-roll action.

For reference, this season, the Knicks grade in the 23rd percentile on a PPP basis against these sets. The Pistons’ offensive success is more than repeatable at home, and they’ll likely shoot better than 22.2% from behind the arc, which they managed to do in Game 2.

Jalen Brunson’s foul-baiting is concerning, depending on how this contest is officiated. Still, I’m a non-believer in New York’s half-court offense (0.88 PPP in Game 2) unless center Karl-Anthony Towns proves he can contend with Detroit’s physicality in the low post, which he hasn’t shown thus far.

I’ll wait and see if I can find a better number (on the spread) in the coming hours before betting on the Pistons. If I place a bet, you’ll find it on our free sports betting Discord. Head to the #roles server to enroll your mobile device in push notifications.

Good luck with your bets on Pistons vs. Knicks odds!

Isaiah Stewart Injury Update

The Pistons’ backup center is listed as questionable for Game 3. Stewart missed Game 2 with a right knee issue, but he has a chance to return to the court in Game 3. If Stewart is ruled out again, Paul Reed will see more time off the bench.
