The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission is set to vote on potential sportsbook licenses tomorrow. With the impending vote looming, lawmakers have set the pre-registration date for Kentucky sportsbook sign-ups. Kentucky operators who are granted licenses will be able to begin accepting pre-registration starting Aug. 28. This is exactly one month ahead of the Sept. 28 launch date.

Kentucky Mobile Apps Launch On Track

What the pre-registration for Kentucky sportsbook sign-ups does is allow locals to join the best Kentucky sports betting apps ahead of the launch. Users will be able to make their betting accounts, accept pre-live promos, and be ready to begin wagering as soon as the market goes live.

“The countdown is on. We are just three weeks away from sports wagering in Kentucky,” said Andy Beshear, Kentucky Governor. “We are ready to deliver the quality entertainment experience Kentuckians asked for, while bringing money to the state to support pensions and free up funds that can be used to build a better Kentucky.”

The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission released the full schedule for the launch plans for the local betting market. Both online pre-registration and launch will commence at 6 a.m. on their respective dates. Retail sportsbooks launch on Sept. 7 and wagers will be able to be accepted starting 10 a.m.

Despite the close window for launch, Kentucky is on track for both retail and mobile launches. Operators will have just six days after gaining approval to have locals pre-register for betting. Fans won’t be able to deposit into their betting wallets for another 10 days, however.

There are three online operators that have announced partnerships with Kentucky racetracks and gained market access. These are FanDuel through Churchill Downs, Caesars Sportsbook through Keeneland and Red Mile, and BetMGM through Revolutionary Racing.

Tomorrow, the commission will vote on seven applicants that have submitted licensing. This includes the three operators with announced deals.
