As with the 1500m, Ledecky is a big favorite for the Women’s 800m Freestyle but not quite as astronomical of one. Ledecky is the world record holder for this event, setting it during the 2016 Rio Olympics at 8:04.79. She has won the gold medal in this event in the past three Olympics and is looking to claim four gold medals in a row.

Katie Ledecky Claims Bronze In 400m
Ledecky claimed her first career Olympic bronze medal during the 400m freestyle this past weekend. She finished at 4:00.86, behind Summer McIntosh of Canada (3:58.37) and Ariarne Titmus of Australia (3:57.49).
“I looked at my splits. There was nothing that was horrible about it. I just didn’t have it on the last 200, 250, the way I wanted to. I felt like my first 150 was pretty good, went out with the field or felt like I was within striking distance,” said Ledecky. “I just couldn’t kick into that next gear that I would have wanted to, to finish it out.”
Ledecky is the greatest female swimmer in history, so it is understandable why sportsbooks have her as a massive favorite in the 1500m and 800m events. However, the 400m results show that even Ledecky can finish bronze, making long odds on other swimmers appealing.
