Below are the best prices available across legal U.S. sportsbooks for every player in the NFL MVP futures market.

Most Money Bet on Justin Herbert To Win MVP

Thanks to a surge of bets and money in July, LA Chargers QB Justin Herbert now has garnered the most handle in NFL MVP futures at Caesars Sportsbook. Herbert still has the fifth-lowest odds to win MVP at , but he’s down from the opener of +1400.

Herbert reached as high as +1500 in March when one Nevada bettor put $7,500 on him to win MVP for a potential return of $112,500. That represents the largest 2022 NFL MVP bet taken thus far at Caesars Sportsbook.

NFL MVP Betting Data From Caesars Sportsbook

Justin Herbert and Josh Allen are No. 1 and 2 in both ticket count and handle at Caesars for NFL MVP.

July Spike for Herbert

In terms of bets only taken in the month of July, Herbert has been the most popular MVP bet by both tickets (15.0%) and handle (36.4%). Allen is second in tickets (10.0%) and third in handle (22.4%), as Raiders signal-caller Derek Carr has reeled in the second-most money this month at 27.1%.

Incredibly, Herbert, Carr and Allen combined make up 85.9% of the overall NFL MVP handle in July at Caesars.

“Maybe some bettors are looking for a little bit more value than betting the favorite,” said Adam Pullen, Assistant Director of Trading at Caesars Sportsbook. “Herbert is a natural choice considering he’s still at double-digit odds. He’s put up big numbers, but I think his ability to get MVP largely hinges on the Chargers making the playoffs and making some noise. They’ve been very hyped up the last few years, but they’re just fallen short. If he does get them in the playoffs this season, he has a good chance of being in the mix for MVP.”

NFL MVP Longshot To Consider

NFL Betting Market Data

After opening with the third-lowest MVP odds at +900, Josh Allen became the favorite on April 15 following a +900 to +700 shift. The reason why? The Bills gunslinger had received the most tickets and dollars to capture the award, and he was still leading in both of those categories until this month.

Herbert has drawn significant interest in July, but so have two fellow AFC West QB’s. Derek Carr of the Raiders is fourth in tickets at 7.3%, while Russell Wilson of the Broncos sits in fifth at 6.9%. By handle, Carr is fifth at 7.7% and Wilson is sixth at 7.2%. Bringing up the rear in the division is Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, who has secured 2.4% of the tickets and 1.4% of the dollars. In fact, every other AFC West starting quarterback has collected over five times as much money to win MVP than Mahomes.

Carr has seen his recent MVP odds go from +3000 to +2000, and Wilson from +1600 to +1400.

The Chargers have also been a trendy Super Bowl bet this month at Caesars Sportsbook. In July, the Chargers (16/1) are second in tickets (7.0%) and handle (11.0%), with only the Bills (+650) besting them with 11.2% of the tickets and 11.7% of the handle.

One Colorado bettor put down $6,500 on Chargers 16/1 for a potential win of $104,000. The only bigger Super Bowl bet this month came from a Nevada bettor who laid $11,000 on Packers 12/1 for a potential win of $132,000.

The Hall of Fame Game is Thursday, Aug. 4 between the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. Week 1 odds have been up for the regular season with opening night Thursday, Sept. 8 in Los Angeles between the Bills () and Rams followed by a full Week 1 slate on Sunday, Sept. 11.
