When will JK Dobbins return and be back on the field for Ravens?

Here we will answer the question as to when will JK Dobbins return and be back on the field for the Ravens. Dobbins had scar tissue issues involving the knee injury that caused him to miss all of last season. The initial timeline for his return is 4-6 weeks.

Baltimore placed Dobbins on IR prior to their home win over the Browns on October 23. Injured reserve rules state that players must miss at least four games.

Dobbins told WJZ Sports on November 9 that his focus is being “all the way 100% going into the playoffs, towards the end of the year.”

Dobbins returned to practice ahead of Week 13 but did not play against Denver. The RB has been at Ravens practice all of this week and appears set to play against Pittsburgh in Week 14, but the Ravens have not yet made that official.

Here are the dates in which Dobbins is most likely to return.

  • Week 14 December 11: Ravens at Steelers
  • Week 15 December 18: Ravens at Browns

TheLines’ injury expert, Will Carroll, weighed in on Dobbins’ injury.

“Dobbins had an arthroscopic knee surgery on his previously reconstructed knee this week,” Carroll said. “The procedure is minor and not uncommon. During his initial surgery where his ACL was reconstructed, Dobbins also had his meniscus repaired. Keeping the meniscus intact gives better long term results, but the procedure sometimes doesn’t work and that’s what happened with Dobbins. The repair didn’t hold under load and he had to have the damaged part removed. It will cost him a month as he heals, but he should be back before the end of the season.”
