In the first half of the College Football Playoff championship game, Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams tore his ACL. Despite that late-season injury, most NFL insiders have maintained his place as a first-round pick. In fact, Jameson Williams odds have been shortening on the prospects of him still being the first WR selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. Click on the odds below if you’d like to bet now.

Jameson Williams Odds: NFL Draft Position

The over/under for when Jameson Williams will be drafted truly depends on price shopping. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars all have it set at different numbers. The number has steadily moved closer and closer to the top 10 in recent weeks.

Jameson Williams Odds To Be First WR Picked

Williams was positioned in most odds as the third most likely player to be the first WR drafted, but that has changed at some sportsbooks. He has moved to the second choice behind Garrett Wilson, moving from around +700 a couple weeks ago to near +200 now.

Prior to the knee injury, many NFL insiders reported teams had the Tide receiver as the best WR in this class. Could teams maintain that ranking looking long-term, despite his current ACL rehab?

What The Media Says

In his latest mock draft, Lance Zierlein has Williams being selected at No. 19 to the New Orleans Saints, making him the fourth receiver taken off the board.

According to NFL Draft analyst Russell Brown, he could go as early as fourth overall to the New York Jets. Brown noted that if the Jets pass on Cincinnati CB Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardener, “the reason why is because they will go with speed at No. 4, and I think that might be Jameson Williams from Alabama.”

NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah mocked Williams 21st overall to the New England Patriots, but that mock was from late March. It will be interesting to see where he slots him in his final mock, as he was Williams as a top-20 prospect in his overall draft rankings.

Both Jeremiah and former NFL scout Bucky Brooks agreed on the Move the Sticks podcast that Jameson Williams is a top-20 prospect, and likely would be ranked far higher had he not torn his ACL.

Sharp Football’s Ryan McCrystal slotted Williams 10th in a previous mock draft but moved off that in his most recent mock draft, dropping Williams to No. 23 to the Cardinals.

NFL Network’s Peter Schrager kept Williams at No. 10 though in his latest mock draft.

The mock draft community truly seems split on how much teams will drop Williams for his ACL injury, despite acknowledging he was the top wideout in this class for most teams before it happened.
