How Hungary Qualified for Euro 2024
Hungary drew into Group G for the qualifying round, going unbeaten. They posted a 5-3-0 match record against Bulgaria, Montenegro, Lithuania, and Serbia. Notable players
Despite being just 23 years old, midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai serves as captain for the Hungarian national team. He also is the highest-scoring midfielder on the squad, scoring four goals and adding three assists in the eight qualifying matches. In his first season with Liverpool, Szoboszlai netted seven goals (between the Premier League, Europa, and EFL Cup) and added three more assists.
Vice-captain Attila Szalai is in his fourth go-around with the Hungarian national team. He last played in the World Cup qualifiers in 2021-22 and also played in the 2020 Euro qualifiers. However, this is the first time Szalai made it to the group stage in any international tournament.
