Home Run Derby Odds: Outright Winner
Pete Alonso Primed For Another Show?
After winning in 2019 and 2021 (with the 2020 derby cancelled because of the shortened campaign), Alonso guns for his third consecutive crown at Dodger Stadium. The 27-year-old first baseman is in a three-way tie with Giancarlo Stanton and Mike Trout for the fifth-most long balls (24) this season.
Alonso has also generated the league’s 11th-highest home-run-to-fly-ball (HR/FB) rate. His home run total for Monday’s event sits at O/U 38.5 while his first-round matchup comes against Ronald Acuna, Jr. — the No. 7 seed — with the No. 2 seed Alonso priced as a -210 favorite.
The remaining Home Run Derby head-to-head odds are listed below.

No. 1 Kyle Schwarber vs. No. 8 Albert Pujols
Will Pujols Turn Back The Clock?
Schwarber may not sit atop the Home Run Derby odds board, but he possesses a National League-leading 28 blasts.
Meanwhile, Pujols has manufactured just six home runs in the 2022 campaign — the lowest total in this year’s derby field. Nevertheless, his 685 career homers rank No. 5 all-time and the most among anyone upon entering a derby event.
No. 3 Corey Seager vs. No. 6 Julio Rodriguez
Who Wins AL West Showdown?
The Mariners’ center fielder is a sizable favorite to win this matchup despite the Rangers’ shortstop tallying the higher overall seed.
After opening the campaign at +1000 to win AL Rookie of the Year, Rodriguez is currently the odds on favorite (-375) in that department. On the flip side, Seager owns 21 home runs to go along with a 10-game hit streak.
No. 4 Juan Soto vs. No. 5 Jose Ramirez
Soto Takes Center Stage
In arguably the most intriguing first-round duel, Soto — fresh off rejecting a 14-year, $440 million contract offer from the Nationals — battles one of MLB’s most underrated stars in Ramirez. Over the last 30 days, Soto has accrued the highest wRC+ among outfielders while Ramirez boasts the sixth-highest fWAR among all position players this season.
