The 2026 Presidents Cup will be played at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois. The course measures 7,548 yards as a par 70, which is a serious test of length and long-iron play.

Presidents Cup Prediction #1: USA To Win

I am picking Team USA to win the Presidents Cup. Not sexy, not surprising.

The -420 price is steep. There is no way around it. Betting a massive favorite in match play is never comfortable, because a few hot putters can flip a session quickly. But this is one of those events where the easiest answer is probably the right answer. I'm not betting any market at -420, but I'll attach it to a few other picks that I like if I can find somewhere that allows me to do it.

Medinah should play into the Americans’ hands. It is a long par 70, and the USA roster has plenty of players who can overwhelm a course with driving distance and great all-around skill. That advantage becomes especially important in Four-ball, where one player can attack aggressively while the partner provides a safety net.

The U.S. also has a ridiculous amount of talent throughout the roster. Scheffler is the headliner, but the Americans can build plenty of intimidating pairings around Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Sam Burns, Cameron Young, Chris Gotterup, Jackson Koivun, and Jacob Bridgeman.

The younger players make the roster more interesting. Gotterup, Koivun, and Bridgeman are all stepping into this environment for the first time, which means there is some uncertainty. But it also means Team USA has fresh talent without needing to ask its captain to hide an obvious weak link.

The International team has plenty of experience, including major champion Ryan Fox, and match play always gives an underdog a better chance than stroke play. The Americans can lose a few holes, lose a few matches, and still have enough quality to win the event.

I expect the chalk to hold.

Presidents Cup Prediction #2: Scottie Scheffler Top Points Scorer

The USA price is probably not enough on its own for most bettors, so the individual points board is where I would rather spend my time.

Scottie Scheffler is +340 to finish as the Presidents Cup’s top points scorer, and he is +114 to finish inside the top three. The top-three line is safer. The top-scorer bet is more fun.

Scheffler won't sneak up on anyone. He is the best player in the event, the market knows it, and he is the shortest price on the board for a reason. But there are a few things working in his favor beyond simply being Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler should, unsurprisingly, be the main part of the American plan. Captains don't bring the best player in the world to a Presidents Cup and then sit him through multiple sessions. If Scheffler is healthy and playing well, he should see plenty of action in Four-ball, Foursomes, and Sunday singles.

If I am taking one swing, I would rather back Scheffler to lead the entire field at +340 than to finish in the top 3.
