PGA TOUR Championship Picks and Odds for 2026: Kim to Win?

The PGA TOUR season comes down to 30 players at East Lake, and I’m looking for elite ball-strikers who can create enough birdie chances to go low. I’m backing Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns near the top of the board, with Tom Kim as my long-shot play. Let's dive into my favorite PGA TOUR Championship picks this week!
PGA TOUR Championship Picks: FedEx Cup Playoffs
Patrick Cantlay at +1600 on DraftKings Sportsbook is my favorite outright this week, even after last week was an incredibly frustrating watch.
Cantlay finished second at the BMW Championship, and the putter killed him despite the rest of his game being on fire.
According to Data Golf, he gained more than two true strokes on approach at the BMW, his best iron performance of the season. It was also his third straight spike week with the irons. Since the beginning of spring, he's been absolutely dynamite with his irons.
Cantlay has also gained strokes off the tee in nearly every event since April. That is the exact profile I want at East Lake. He was near the top of last week’s field in virtually every meaningful metric besides putting.
At some point, Cantlay is going to find an average putting week – and that might be good enough to win. He does not need to become a wizard on the greens. If Cantlay just avoids losing strokes with the putter, his entire game is good enough to win.
Best Bet: Patrick Cantlay to Win DraftKings, +1600
TOUR Championship Expert Picks
Sam Burns at +1475 is my counterweight to Cantlay. If Cantlay is the ball-striker waiting for the putter to cooperate, Burns is one of the best putters on TOUR whose approach game has quietly become elite.
Burns lost a little in true putting strokes at the BMW last week, his first negative putting performance since March. That is almost funny for someone who is arguably the best putter in the field.
Per Data Golf, Burns has gained at least 1.16 true strokes on approach in seven of his past eight tournaments. That is world-class iron play, and it gives him a path to winning even if he has just an ordinary putting week.
An ordinary putting week for Burns is still elite compared to most of the TOUR. If he finds fairways and keeps striking his irons like this, he can absolutely take over this weekend. Can he finally close out a big tournament?

Let's talk about some longer odds this week.
Kim has gained true strokes on approach in 13 straight tournaments and has gained strokes putting in each of his last three starts. That is a perfect formula for East Lake: a player flushing irons who only needs a decent putting week to contend.
His outright odds feel too big for his recent form. Kim won the Genesis Scottish Open in July, then followed it with a T20, T5, and T12. He also has a solo third at the U.S. Open and a T6 at the Myrtle Beach Classic this season.
Kim is squarely back on the golf map. At 48/1, I’m happy to take the outright sprinkle and add the top-10 bet for coverage.
