Golf DFS Picks: 4 Longshots & PGA Tour Sleepers For WM Phoenix Open

The best party in golf is here this week. We continue handicapping 2025 WM Phoenix Open odds, for the tournament known as Wasted Management and The People’s Open at TPC Scottsdale. After successfully landing on Nick Taylor at 170-1 odds in this article last year, we’ll look to keep the party going as we shift our golf DFS picks focus to the 2025 WM Phoenix Open.
Maybe it’s the disorienting pressure of hundreds of thousands of raucous fans pumping life into this event or simply the all-around tee-to-green test of TPC Scottsdale. But in any case, this has been a tournament where the cream rises to the top. The list of past champions and regular contenders is littered with those who have steadily contended in majors, The Players, or Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup atmospheres. That setup is not especially conducive to betting longshots. However, high-upside sleepers in this field are still worth consideration for placement bets and your DFS lineups.
Let’s get to our 2025 WM Phoenix Open longshots and sleepers for golf DFS lineups and betting cards. Click on the odds anywhere below to bet now at the best available prices in your state.

FINDING VALUE IN GOLF DFS PICKS: WM Phoenix open oPEN
To identify “value” any given week on the PGA Tour, I find it’s best first to understand the consensus key stat profile, then take a stance on the elements of the tournament that may go overlooked. At the WM Phoenix Open, recent form, SG: ball striking, and course history are key areas factored into each player’s price.
From a sleeper perspective, I will take a stance on the importance of SG: T2G in comp course conditions and prioritize heavier weight on course history instead of recent form as key areas to differentiate my player pool and find value for this week’s tournament.
Below, find my favorite golf DFS picks and longshots for the 2025 WM Phoenix Open. Stats were pulled from the last 36 rounds unless otherwise noted. Each player is listed with the best price in WM Phoenix Open odds.

J.J. Spaun J.J. Spaun +100000 on FanDuel
Accuracy is an overlooked trait at TPC Scottsdale. However, I’ve always favored players who can hit a straight ball in firm and fast desert conditions to avoid the many lateral water and natural hazards. Spaun’s history at other comp desert courses draws me to him this week. He’s gained on the field with accuracy on similar courses that can derail a round with one or two wayward drives. He has three top-15 finishes at TPC Summerlin over the last five years and has handled the pressure of this event with a career-best T4 at the 2017 WM Phoenix Open.
Spaun is off to a hot start this season, kicking off the year with four straight top-35 finishes. He’ll enter this week with five top-15 finishes over his last 12 starts. The No. 15 player in my model this week with top-15 ranks across SG: TOT (L36) and SG: APP, Spaun will be a staple DFS play for me, with legitimate top-20 upside on an excellent course fit.

Cameron Young Cameron Young +100000 on FanDuel
TPC Scottsdale is a proven battleground for elite ball strikers with plus distance and prior history in major championships. Whether due to the electric crowd atmosphere or its challenging layout, it has shown itself as a venue where those with talent and form can separate.
I’m not saying Cameron Young is the next Scottie Scheffler, but we can draw parallels between his resume and Scheffler’s in his first three seasons on the tour. Scottie picked up his long-overdue first career PGA Tour victory at the WM Phoenix Open. He also was developing a reputation as a player who could not close out a golf tournament … until he could.
We’re getting a nice discount on Cameron Young this week after back-to-back underwhelming starts in California. But I’m not overly concerned that he’s fallen out of form, considering he posted top-15 finishes in his two prior starts. Young remains one of the most elite drivers in this field, a skill set that can separate you from the pack with TPC Scottsdale’s many risk-reward holes. Coming off of a T8 showing here last year, Young is a great under-the-radar play who will be available at discounted ownership in fantasy formats this week.
Si Woo Kim Si Woo Kim +100000 on FanDuel
I’m a big believer in regression to the mean, and we seem to be getting the perfect storm in that regard with Si Woo Kim this week. He’s been long overdue to round into form, particularly at this golf course. And he’s finally proven to be turning a corner over the last few weeks.
The trends at the WM Phoenix Open show an obvious correlation with players who have either won The Players or a major championship going on to win this event. Each of the last 10 winners posted a top-15 finish here before picking up their first WM Phoenix Open win. Kim fits both criteria, winning the 2017 Players Championship and finishing T23 and T12 in his last two appearances at this event.
Kim loves risk-reward venues, as evidenced by his wins at The Stadium Course and TPC Sawgrass. He’ll come into this week hot off a 12th-place finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Victor Perez Victor Perez +100000 on FanDuel
If you’re looking for leverage in fantasy formats this week, Victor Perez is a great non-obvious option. He fits the profile of everything I’m looking for in a valuable player at the WM Phoenix Open. Perez has a flair for the dramatic. He rose to the occasion at the Olympics in his home country last year with a surging fourth-place finish. He’s struggled to put four quality rounds together in a tournament since but excels in the two most important categories I’m looking at for TPC Scottsdale: approach and putting. He is one of just four players in the field this week to rank in the top 30 in both categories.
TPC Sawgrass is the best comp course to reference performance this week. In his only Players Championship appearance, Perez impressed with a T9 finish, suggesting that a better result may soon come at TPC Scottsdale.
Best of luck if you bet or play this week’s golf DFS picks for the WM Phoenix Open!
