Usually a significant hangover week for us golf fans, the RBC Heritage found new life on the 2025 PGA Tour schedule. It’s been tapped with signature event status for the second straight year and includes a tantalizing $20M purse. Unlike the first six designated events of the year, we’ll see a markedly improved field at Harbour Town Golf Links. The tour’s stars (outside of Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama) will head from Augusta to Hilton Head for the weekend. Below, find golf DFS longshot picks for this event.

FINDING VALUE IN GOLF DFS PICKS: RBC Heritage

To identify “value” for any given week on the PGA Tour, I find it’s best to understand the consensus key stat profile first. Then, take a stance on the elements of the tournament that may go overlooked. At the RBC Heritage, recent form, course history, and SG: approach are consensus key areas factored into each player’s price.

From a sleeper perspective, I will emphasize the importance of comp course history at similar positional Pete Dye venues. This is an ideal buy-low spot for players looking to bounce back from a poor showing at the Masters, differentiate my player pool, and find value for this week’s tournament.

Below, find my favorite golf DFS picks and longshots for the 2025 RBC Heritage. Stats reflect the last 36 rounds unless otherwise noted. Each player is listed with the best price in RBC Heritage odds.

Daniel Berger

What constitutes a “longshot”? I can use the term more liberally in these no-cut signature events. In a field starved of value from a betting and fantasy standpoint, Berger stands out as a must-play option at Harbour Town. He continues to put any doubts about his form behind him, finishing in the top 30 in each of his last seven starts. He’s done it sustainably over that stretch, averaging a full stroke gained per four rounds in each main category.

Berger will now head to a golf course tailor-made for his game. Harbour Town Golf Links provides no advantage in terms of driving distance. Instead, driving accuracy, short-iron approach play, and Bermuda putting gain importance. Berger ranks in the top 15 in each of those three categories. With three consecutive top-20 finishes at the RBC Heritage, all systems go on Berger.

J.T. Poston

A Carolina native with close ties to Harbour Town, Poston’s game is a good fit for this short and positional setup. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that the results at the RBC Heritage have materialized for him, with four top-10 finishes over six starts.

However, it’s interesting to note that such success has come despite any gains in approach, in which Poston typically excels. He gained strokes to the field on approach in just two of those six prior appearances, so I expect he’s due for an even higher ceiling this time.

The form has been solid throughout 2025, as Poston carries a streak of nine consecutive made cuts into Harbour Town. With four top-30 finishes over that stretch, I don’t see Poston as an outright contender this week. But, I am drawn to him in fantasy and placement betting markets.

Bud Cauley

In this signature event featuring all of the best players on tour not named McIlroy or Matsuyama, Bud Cauley cracks the top five in recent form (L16 rounds). Cauley goes for a heat check at Harbour Town this week, as he’ll carry a streak of three consecutive top-six finishes at The Players Championship, Valspar Championship, and Valero Texas Open. That wasn’t enough to earn him a spot in the field at the Masters, but avoiding that physical and emotional grind may prove a blessing in disguise.

Cauley has excelled at the RBC Heritage, posting a career-best T9 finish in 2017. This week, he ranks No. 10 in my model, rating top-10 in SG: T2G, SG: ball striking, and greens in regulation percentage.

Tom Hoge

Another value player continuing to ride a heat check into Harbour Town, Hoge has begun to turn a corner on some of golf’s biggest stages over the last month. He finished in the top 15 in his previous three starts at the Masters, Valero Texas Open, and The Players. A known approach marksman, Harbour Town looks like an ideal venue for a player like Hoge to separate from the other elites in the field, as total driving is de-prioritized here in favor of precision and positioning.

Hoge ranks in the top 10 in SG: approach, prox: 125-200, and SG: ball striking leading into this week. Encouragingly, he’s also gotten into a groove off the tee, gaining to the field in driving accuracy in his last five starts. If that continues into the 2025 RBC Heritage, he looks poised to sustain this top-15 streak and build on his career-best T18 finish at this event last year.

Best of luck if you bet or play this golf DFS picks for the RBC Heritage!
