2025 PGA Tour Golf Bets: Genesis Invitational Final Thoughts, Betting Card, OAD

PGA Tour golf continues with Torrey Pines next on tap to host the 2025 Genesis Invitational in San Diego this Thursday. This week, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Collin Morikawa are the favorites among Genesis Invitational bets. John Haslbauer provides his favorite PGA Tour picks from among all the golf odds available this week. Below, you’ll find each player’s best odds at sports betting sites.

The PGA Tour’s best are set to tee off in San Diego this Thursday for the 2025 Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines.

Annually one of the longest courses on tour with thick, penal rough, and small greens, Torrey Pines has long rewarded complete all-around players with above-average driving distance and proven past performance in majors or comparable difficult scoring conditions.

We’ll go through all the bets I’ve placed for the 2025 Genesis Invitational.

HOW I BUILT MY Genesis Invitational BETTING CARD

A wetter forecast may have tipped the scales to favor the longer hitters from an odds perspective. That meant we could capitalize on some drift over the week on some approach marksmen instead. Distance is advantageous at Torrey Pines, one of the longest venues we see yearly. Still, I’ve focused my card on elite total drivers who can repeatedly hit fairways and separate with their approach proximity from beyond 200 yards.

Regarding unit allocations for my card, it’s back to business as usual, with a full card of exposure for the best entire field yet in 2025 at the Genesis Invitational.

  • Outrights — 3.5U in to pay 25U each
  • FRL — 0.5U in to pay out 10U+ each
  • Full tournament matchups — 1U in to pay out 2U
  • Props — 1.1U in to pay out 3U+ each

Genesis Invitational BETS: OUTRIGHTS (3.5 UNITS)

Collin Morikawa

My bet: +1600
Best available odds: Collin Morikawa +500000 on DraftKings

As the week goes on, the forecast of cold, rainy weather in San Diego has led to a narrative that you must be long to contend at Torrey Pines this week. While there is plenty of truth to that, I’ve seen Morikawa contend too many times on long and soft courses (top-three finishes at the Memorial and the Masters last season) to be discouraged. Morikawa’s strength is in his accuracy. That will continue to give him a leg up on this linear setup. He can point and shoot at softer greens from the fairway.

A California kid through and through, Morikawa is an underrated Poa putter. He seems to have turned a corner on the greens this year. With two top-five finishes over four prior starts at Torrey Pines, this number has excellent value for Morikawa, who is long overdue for his next PGA Tour win.

Ludvig Aberg

My bet: +2500
Best available odds: Ludvig Aberg +1200 on FanDuel

As promised four weeks ago, I am sticking to my word and running it back with Ludvig Aberg this week at Torrey Pines and any future appearance he has at this venue. Torrey Pines is a linear course that rewards players who drive the ball extremely far and straight.

Since the last time we saw him, he has had two weeks to rest and recover from the illness that forced him to withdraw from the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. If the reports on the ground are true that he’s back to his normal self, we’re capitalizing on a nice discount at this price.

Keegan Bradley

My bet: +6000
Best available odds: Keegan Bradley +100000 on FanDuel

Like Aberg, I’m drawn to players at the top of the board this week who love Torrey Pines enough to play it twice in four weeks. Bradley’s history here reminds me of Harris English, who also put himself in contention multiple times over 12+ prior starts before finally sealing the deal at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open. Bradley’s resume at Torrey Pines includes three top-five finishes since 2017.

His form is highly encouraging leading into this week. He remains a model of consistency off the tee with top-15 ranks in total driving and SG: ball striking. Players who can repeatedly gain on the field in both distance and accuracy can separate themselves at Torrey Pines, which helps explain Bradley’s consistency year over year on these grounds.

Russell Henley

My bet: +6500
Best available odds: Russell Henley +250000 on DraftKings

My featured spotlight player this week, Russell Henley, interests me for many of the same reasons I’m high on Morikawa. Both players will live out of the fairways this week and elevate their baselines under challenging conditions, especially on courses like Torrey Pines, where the thick rough adds an even steeper missed fairway penalty.

Henley hasn’t played Torrey Pines often but shined with limited prior reps at the 2021 US Open, where he entered the final round in the final pairing. Statistically, Henley rates out perfectly across the key stats I’m looking for this week. He’s No. 6 in my model with top-15 ranks in SG: TOT (L36), SG: T2G (L36), SG: APP, SG: putting, course history, comp course history, SG: TOT (difficult conditions), and SG: T2G (7,400+ yard courses).

Adam Scott

My bet: +9000
Best available odds: Adam Scott +500000 on DraftKings

My favorite value on the betting board this week is Adam Scott. I would still endorse him to his current price of 75-1 odds. Scott’s ball striking travels with him regardless of the venue, but his short game is particularly elite on the West Coast. Scott ranks in the top 15 in SG: putting (Poa) and is No. 1 in the field in SG: ARG over the last 36 rounds. That’s crucial under challenging conditions, with greens-in-regulation percentages expected to decrease.

Ranking No. 5 in recent form over the last 36 rounds, Scott should feel comfortable at this event. He’s finished T35, T10, and second in his last three appearances at Torrey Pines and is searching for his first win since taking down this event at Riviera in January 2020.

Genesis Invitational BETS: FIRST-ROUND LEADER (0.5 UNITS)

Russell Henley

My bet: +4500
Best available odds: Russell Henley +17000 on FanDuel

Perhaps Henley will draw some inspiration from Thomas Detry last week as complete golfers who have not won nearly as often as they should when in contention late in tournaments. But, if we still get the same old Russell Henley this week, the FRL market is where I want to double down my exposure, as his game is clicking on all cylinders to go low on Thursday.

Keegan Bradley

My bet: +5000
Best available odds: Keegan Bradley +100000 on DraftKings

Making his 15th career start at Torrey Pines this week, Bradley could practically play this course with his eyes closed. His elite total driving and approach proximity from beyond 200 yards should create ample scoring opportunities as long as he can keep the ball in the fairway in Round 1.

Adam Scott

My bet: +5500
Best available odds: Adam Scott +35000 on FanDuel

Elite in terms of distance, ball-striking form, course history, and short game around Poa greens, what’s not to like about Adam Scott this week? His biggest problem has been consistently piecing four solid rounds together in one tournament, but that won’t be a concern in the FRL market.

Aaron Rai

My bet: +8000
Best available odds: Aaron Rai +6600 on BetMGM

Aaron Rai is in the field this week, which means Aaron Rai is on the FRL card yet again. Rai has some past success at Torrey Pines despite his lack of distance, and with such a top-heavy field, the market seems to have forgotten who the real threat to go lowest on Thursday is.

Genesis Invitational BETS: PROPS (2.1 UNITS)

Full Tournament Matchup: Will Zalatoris > Viktor Hovland

My bet: -110

I don’t love the feeling of betting against Viktor Hovland because of his volatility and capability of spiking without signs of trending form. That said, this matchup is a dead heat regarding recent form. Zalatoris gains a significant edge with his course history (three top-15s over his last five appearances) and scrambling ability (No. 10 in bogey avoidance in difficult conditions).

Top-20 Finish: Adam Scott

My bet: +190
Best available odds: Adam Scott +1200 on FanDuel

I love the value we’re getting on Adam Scott this week for all of the reasons explained in the outright and FRL markets. He was priced a tier too low in this field for his combination of course history, course fit, and recent form. In a field of just 70 players, he doesn’t have to play his best to cash this prop.

One And Done

My pick: Ludvig Aberg

I nearly bet Aberg at Torrey Pines four weeks ago but opted to save him for this moment when the field would be tighter and purse would be higher. Little did I know, he’d also be much healthier for the Genesis Invitational than at the Farmers Insurance Open. Many courses suit Aberg’s game, and I expect he’ll contend in multiple majors this year. But if I had to choose one course that suits his game best, it’s Torrey Pines.

If not Aberg, I would also consider playing Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, or Collin Morikawa this week.

Best of luck with all of your Genesis Invitational bets!
