First Touchdown Odds

To wrap up the odds for NFL Week 4, the winless Titans face the 1-2 Dolphins before a marquee NFC showdown between the Lions and Seahawks. Miami is lined near a pick’em at Miami Dolphins -148 on BetRivers while Detroit is Detroit Lions -4 (-115) on Bet365. Below are the odds for first touchdown scorers and my thoughts on potential bets for both games.

Monday Night Football Doubleheader Picks For First Touchdown Odds:

Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Jaxon Smith-Njigba +2200 on DraftKings

If you’re using pizza money on your anytime touchdown bets, I wouldn’t fire more than couch change on this market. Lions running back David Montgomery, who sits atop the odds board, has a 15.4% implied probability of scoring first. That should tell you all you need to know.

If you are interested in a fun sweat, Smith-Njigba’s first-touchdown odds are intriguing in a plus matchup. I’m surprised that fellow Seahawks wideout Tyler Lockett is priced at a shorter number despite Smith-Njigba nabbing more targets. His 20.8% target share also speaks volumes.

The Lions’ secondary was expected to improve, yet they’ve let up an above-average EPA per dropback and passing success rate. The Seahawks are knotted with the Bengals for the league’s highest PROE. I do not foresee them reversing course, and Smith-Njigba should remain heavily involved.

Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith: Jonnu Smith +2800 on Bet365

Although Tennessee is tied for the second-fewest targets allowed to opposing tight ends, they haven’t seen many offenses that feature them. That isn’t necessarily the case for the Dolphins, but Smith’s snap rate has risen since Week 1. He is worth the smallest sprinkles within Miami’s limited passing attack, no matter who starts under center.

What Are first touchdown scorer Odds?

Like anytime touchdown odds, the first touchdown betting option has developed into one of the most popular player props across the sports betting industry.

Players are always stationed at plus-money odds. Given the exciting result for novice and hardcore pro football bettors, the hype with first TD odds isn’t surprising. Your wager will win if you bet on the first player to reach the end zone from a rushing, receiving, defensive, or special teams score. Passing touchdowns do not apply to first TD odds at NFL betting sites.

If the player you bet on gets hurt during the game, don’t anticipate a refund on first touchdown odds. Just like any other bet, risk comes into play.
