Final Four Prop Bets

For some handicapping March Madness odds, only point spreadmoneyline, and total markets are considered. Unfortunately, these odds are ultra-efficient at this point in the season. Thus, there are often greater edges with player props. That is where my attention is geared toward Purdue vs. N.C. State and UConn vs. Alabama. Remember that North Carolina residents can nab the best NC sportsbook promos, netting you up to $2,700 in bonus bets for your Final Four prop bets!

Final four odds: Purdue vs. NC State

This game features plenty of angles for Final Four prop bets, which I included in my Purdue vs. NC State odds write-up. The market has already accounted for DJ Horne's upside versus Zach Edey and the Boilermakers' drop coverage.

N.C. State's frontcourt provides another. I plan on making a small bet on N.C. State center Mohammed Diarra. That is not a typo. Opposing bigs to Purdue have succeeded around the arc, especially in Big Ten play, with Edey in drop. Surprisingly, Diarra's 3-point attempt rate is in the 63rd percentile — one of three Wolfpack who find themselves above the D-I average in that category.

Granted, there is uncertainty about who defends Zach Edey. The 7-foot-4 center draws the highest foul rate nationally. Assuming Diarra avoids long stretches on the bench, I prefer going over on him delivering over  makes from deep than target a trendy player like Burns, whose points prop is priced rather fairly.

final four odds: UConn vs. Alabama

As I hit on in my other betting preview for Final Four odds, UConn wing Stephon Castle will likely shadow Alabama point guard Mark Sears — just as he did with Illinois' Terrence Shannon Jr. and Northwestern's Boo Buie in previous tournament matchups.

Unlike the Illini, it's highly unlikely that Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats will ask Sears and his teammates to attack Huskies center Donovan Clingan at will. That certainly contributed to Shannon's shooting struggles in UConn's Elite Eight victory. Nevertheless, the Huskies' defense runs you off the perimeter and forces opponents into the mid-range.

Sears showcases above-average efficiency from that vicinity, yet UConn's physicality could overwhelm him.
