One race is left on the calendar before the Formula One season heads to summer break. After a crushing performance in France, Ferrari is looking to battle back on the Hungarian Grand Prix odds board and close the points gap to Red Bull.
Sportsbooks seem to think the team can end the first half of the season on a high note. The latest Formula One odds at most online sportsbooks have Leclerc as the favorite to win the last race before the break.

Binotto Looks At The Positives Heading Into Hungarian Grand Prix
For many Ferrari fans, it might be hard to find any positives to talk about after last weekend’s French Grand Prix. Just as it looked like Ferrari had finally outpaced Red Bull and was on the path toward victory, Leclerc spun out in Turn 11 of lap 18.
The screams on the radio indicated just how much this race meant to him and just how brutal this unforced error was.
Carlos Sainz, his teammate, started at the back of the grid after receiving engine penalties and battled his way up to fifth to finish the race.
But Ferrari just looked off when it came to Sainz. The crew told him to box while he was actively making a pass, and having him pit likely cost him a few positions.
Despite the hiccups, Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto has high hopes for Hungary. He believes his team can score a one-two finish this weekend and head into the summer break on a high note.
“Our car is great, gentle with tyre management, the drivers as well are doing the proper job, and I think we come out from here Le Castellet with full confidence on our package, on our drivers’ capacity and our speed. So… in a week’s time we’ve got Hungary, only seven days, important for us to turn the page, to look forward. Hungary will be again very hot and it will be again about tyre management, tyre degradation and tyres overheating – very similar to Le Castellet. So I will say there is plenty of reason why we need to smile, and be positive, because our objective going in Hungary should be not for a winning, but a one-two.”
Similarities Between France and Hungary
If Leclerc can keep his focus, it’s he can absolutely win the last race before the break. He secured pole position in France and was on track to win last weekend before the unforced error.
Race day conditions will be similar to what we saw in France and, historically speaking, Red Bull doesn’t always perform its best at this track.
The F1-75 is a high-downforce car, which will be tough to beat around the twisty Hungaroring in Mogyoród, Hungary. The low-downforce RB-18 sets the standard when it comes to straight-line speed, but Ferrari has been closing that gap. This track should favor peak performance in the turns, too.
While complacent is never a term that can be used to describe Verstappen, with a 63-point lead in the Driver’s Championship standings, there’s not a ton of pressure on him to win this one.
One thing Leclerc can’t discount is the threat of his teammate. Sainz put in the race of a lifetime last weekend in France, driving both smart and aggressively. At one point, he was in the position to secure P3 after starting P19.
If the Ferrari car doesn’t implode on itself, which we have unfortunately seen a bit this season, I like Leclerc at +150 to win the Hungarian Grand Prix at FanDuel Sportsbook.
