2025 PGA Tour Golf Bets: Farmers Insurance Open Final Thoughts, Betting Card, OAD

PGA Tour golf continues with Torrey Pines next on tap to host the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego this Wednesday. Ludvig Aberg and Hideki Matsuyama are the favorites among Farmers Insurance Open bets this week. John Haslbauer provides his favorite PGA Tour picks from among all the golf odds available this week. Below, you’ll find the best odds at sports betting sites for each player.
The stars are out in California, and the wait is almost over as the PGA Tour’s best are set to tee off one day early and clear the Sunday stage for the NFL conference championships. The action begins this Wednesday for the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines North and South Courses.
Annually one of the longest courses on tour with thick, penal rough, and small greens, Torrey Pines has long rewarded complete all-around players with above-average driving distance and proven past performance in majors or comparable difficult scoring conditions.
We’ll go through all the bets I’ve placed for the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open.

HOW I BUILT MY FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN BETTING CARD
Before the odds came out, I knew I would be betting on Ludvig Aberg to win this event. Unfortunately, a landslide of withdrawals from top players before Monday led to as short of a number as we’ve ever seen from him. But that means even less resistance stands in his way. That did not leave room for much else on my betting card. But I’ve opted to round it out with discounted players who have shown promise and proven course history at Torrey Pines.
Regarding unit allocations for my card, it’s back to business as usual with a full card of exposure for the best full field yet in 2025 at the Farmers Insurance Open.

FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN BETS: OUTRIGHTS (3.5 UNITS)
Ludvig Aberg
My bet: +1100
Best available odds: Ludvig Aberg +900 on DraftKings
Torrey Pines is a linear course that rewards players who drive the ball extremely far and straight. Its straightforward design should be music to the ears of Ludvig Aberg, who has been described as a robot who can repeatedly hit the longest clubs in his bag to perfection.
Aberg is the first name that comes to mind when I think of long and straight off the tee. From a ball-striking standpoint, Aberg’s swing is very reminiscent of Adam Scott, who also leaned on skillsets of long and straight drives and elite long iron play to find repeated results at Torrey Pines. My featured spotlight player this week, Aberg has many avenues to put himself in contention at a venue perfectly suited to the strengths of his game.
Taylor Pendrith
My bet: +3500
Best available odds: Taylor Pendrith +3000 on DraftKings
Simply put, those who hit the ball the farthest stand to gain the most strokes off the tee at Torrey Pines, which features one of the lowest fairway-in-regulation percentages on the PGA Tour. From that standpoint, Pendrith will be starting on second base, as he ranks in the top 15 in the field of driving distance.
Pendrith has finished T16 and T9 here over the last three years and enters in elite form, with eight top-25 finishes over his last nine starts.
Justin Rose
My bet: +8000
Best available odds: Justin Rose +7500 on DraftKings
A top-five player in course history at Torrey Pines, Justin Rose has been a model of consistency in San Diego throughout his career. He’s posted four top-20 finishes over the last six years, including a win here in 2019.
With Rose, we essentially get the discounted version of Jason Day. Both veterans are in solid form, with great repeated course history. They have made a long career out of mastering these tricky Poa greens. Rose has four top-25 finishes in his last eight starts and will look to build on that streak this week.
Harris English
My bet: +10000
Best available odds: Harris English +8000 on DraftKings
The 34-year-old must have a thing for Torrey Pines, as he’s set to start his 13th career tournament here this week. Over that span, English has missed just two cuts and posted four top-15 finishes. English is best when the conditions get more challenging, stacking up top-25 finishes in two majors and three additional signature events last season. He enters this week in fine form with three top 15s over his last six starts.
Joseph Bramlett
My bet: +22500
Best available odds: Joseph Bramlett +15000 on DraftKings
If you’re looking for this year’s version of the 2022 Luke List, Joseph Bramlett is your guy at an even steeper discount. Bramlett has had an excellent track record at Torrey Pines, with three top 25s in the last four years. A historically poor putter, Bramlett’s figured out something about these nuanced Poa greens, as he’s gained putting in all but one prior appearance at Torrey Pines. Putting aside, he enters in very solid form from tee to green.

Aaron Rai (North Course)
My bet: +3500
Best available odds: +3500
Aaron Rai is in the field this week, which means Aaron Rai is on the FRL card yet again. Rai has some past success at Torrey Pines despite his lack of distance, and that, coupled with a split field across two courses, makes for an unusually short number for his first round leader odds.
Harris English (North Course)
My bet: +4000
Best available odds: +4000
While English is one to separate on more challenging courses, his spike putting upside makes him an interesting play for the easier North Course setup. His putter carried him to his last two victories in easy conditions at the Sentry and Travelers Championship.
Thomas Detry (South Course)
My bet: +3500
Best available odds: +3500
Detry is a volatile birdie-maker. I love his fit for Torrey Pines but fell just short of keeping him on my outright card as he still chases his first professional win. His combination of distance and touch around the green makes him a great sleeper fit to score at Torrey Pines South.
Joseph Bramlett (South Course)
My bet: +5000
Best available odds: +5000
Just one cooperative putting round away from rising up the leaderboard, Bramlett is worth a flier at these odds. His distance will position him well on Torrey Pines’ gargantuan layout, and he enters this week in very solid form from tee to green.
FARMERS INSURANCE OPEN BETS: PROPS (2.5 UNITS)
Full Tournament Matchup: Taylor Pendrith > Si Woo Kim
My bet: -120
Best available odds: -120
Few players have more consistently played themselves into contention over the last several months than Taylor Pendrith. Regardless of the course, his game has traveled to long and short venues. At Torrey Pines, Pendrith has posted two top-20 finishes in three career trips. Si Woo Kim, on the other hand, is a bit more volatile. While I like his accuracy and scrambling ability here, Torrey Pines is a better fit for Pendrith’s game.
Top-20 Finish: Thomas Detry
My bet: +280
Best available odds: Thomas Detry +260 on FanDuel
He just missed my outright card, but I still love Detry’s fit for Torrey Pines, even if not necessarily to emerge victorious. He looked good at the start of his first year at the Sentry, finished in the top 10, and has a solid history at Torrey Pines.
Top-20 Finish: Harris English
My bet: +320
Best available odds: Harris English +300 on FanDuel
With four other top-15 finishes under his belt at Torrey Pines, we know the ceiling is there for Harris English. He enters in solid form and has the well-rounded game to climb the leaderboard through many different avenues between his ball-striking and short game.
One And Done
My pick: Jason Day
As confident as I am in Ludvig Aberg’s fit and prospects this week, I don’t think this is the only tournament this season in which he’ll be favored to win. So, as tempted as I was to play him in this spot, I will save Aberg for a higher-purse event like the Genesis Invitational in two weeks or the PGA Championship.
With Jason Day, I expect these displays of hot form to come in waves, so I will strike while the iron is hot as he comes off a T3 finish at the American Express and heads to a course he’s seen repeated success at year over year.
If not Day, I would also consider playing Ludvig Aberg, Keegan Bradley, or Taylor Pendrith this week.
