What is FantasyDraft?
FantasyDraft launched in December 2014 with a commitment to prioritizing the needs of the DFS player through every aspect of their business. Prior to launch, the site also created some buzz and credibility by inking luminaries the likes of Drew Brees, Andy Dalton, T.Y. Hilton, Jordy Nelson, Kevin Love, Tony Parker, Chris Bosh and Clayton Kershaw to athlete endorsement deals. Over time, FantasyDraft has offered numerous “VIP Player Experience” contests where the top prize is an all-expenses-paid one-on-one event with one of FantasyDraft’s athlete endorsers. The site has adopted the moniker of “#PlayersFirst” as the theme that guides its consumer-facing operations, including all of its contest offerings. FantasyDraft has undertaken a number of initiatives throughout its four-plus years in business that put this approach into practice. They include:- A minimum 25% payout for the majority of its cash games or GPPs (guaranteed prize pools). Special events such as qualifiers, VIP experiences, championships and user-created contests are often exceptions to this guideline.
- Lower contest fees, with GPPs and 50/50 cash games with entry fees as low as .25 cents.
- “Half-the-Rake” head-to-head contests. The site has also run fully rake-free head-to-head contests at different points.
- Flexible roster construction: FantasyDraft’s lineups often employ two utility spots that can be filled with any player on a slate of games, and also offer greater flexibility with respect to designated positions.
- Stricter caps on multiple entries, making it a more user-friendly experience for the novice or intermediate player.
- Beginner-and Intermediate-labeled contests in which only players of a certain experience level are allowed to participate.
- Experience Badge system that identifies players that reached certain contest participation and/or winnings benchmarks playing on FantasyDraft.
- Opportunities to play in fantasy contests against FantasyDraft athlete endorsers.
