FanDuel Dinger Tuesday

FanDuel Sportsbook’s Dinger Tuesday promotion has returned, as we enter the second week of the MLB season. It is one of the most popular MLB promotions offered by Sportsbooks during the regular season. Users wager at least $25 on a player in any game to hit a home run. For each dinger hit in the chosen game, users receive a $5 bonus bet back into their account (max $25), regardless of whether their chosen player goes yard.

Opt in to this promo under FanDuel’s promos tab or at the top of your app screen before betting on any players to go deep. Tuesday’s slate is loaded with 15 games, so let’s dive into my best bets for FanDuel Dinger Tuesday.

Cardinals vs. Rockies, 8:40 p.m. ET

Jordan Walker ()

This total is one of the highest on the board for Tuesday (), so I want a player from this game included. It’s worth noting that none of the 11 runs scored by either team last night came from the long ball.

Although the Cardinals boast a talented roster loaded with pop, most of their home run odds are relatively short. Enter Jordan Walker, the Cardinals’ top prospect. Standing at 6-foot-6, 245 pounds, Walker is always a threat to go yard. For reference, he was priced at +560 to hit a home run last night at FanDuel Sportsbook (now ).

Although he’s been good so far this season, Kyle Freeland allowed the fourth-most barreled balls – hits with at least a 98 mph exit velocity – last year (55). On the flip side, this Cardinals lineup crushes lefties. Last year, they ranked first in wRC+ and first in slugging against left-handed pitching. Surprisingly, Coors Field has only seen seven home runs fly out thus far this season, the fourth fewest in baseball.

Weather is not much of a concern for this game, as the wind is expected to blow 6 mph toward the left field foul line at first pitch.

Nationals vs. Angels, 9:38 p.m. ET

Logan O’Hoppe ()

This pick is largely fading Josiah Gray, the Nationals’ scheduled starter for Tuesday. Gray allowed a whopping 38 home runs (most in the MLB) and 45 barreled balls last year, a top-15 clip. Betting against him was a popular choice on Dinger Tuesday last year. To his credit, Gray started utilizing a cutter this year and lowered his fastball usage, the pitch that got him in trouble last year. That said, this Angels lineup has a chance to do some damage against him.

Before Monday’s games, there were three players tied with four barreled balls for the Halos. Although most fans can guess two of those players (Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani), they might not know the third – catcher Logan O’Hoppe. O’Hoppe already hit three homers this season, so his power has been showcased early on.

As of Monday’s forecast, the weather should be pleasant, with slight breeze out to left field.

Brewers vs Diamondbacks, 9:40 p.m. ET

Brian Anderson ()

At six barreled balls this season, Anderson has the fourth most in the majors early on. He changed his stance and pre-swing setup, and made a few changes with his bat. In previous seasons, injuries plagued him, so a healthy spring allowed him to experiment and make adjustments. Those adjustments are paying off, as he has already hit three home runs this season and has a .667 slugging.

Conversely, Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelly lowered his sinker usage this season. It’s early and the sample size is small, but his fly ball percentage has seen a slight uptick. Remember that Kelly also gave up the sixth-most barrels last year (47).

FANDUEL DINGER TUESDAY CONCLUSION

I’d love to fade Gray and the Nationals today, but I like taking the Cardinals against a lefty too much to do so. They’re playing in Coors Field with the highest total on the board. That game checks a lot of boxes for Dinger Tuesday, and we want to maximize our profits and receive the maximum $25 in bonus bets back if possible. I’ll be backing Jordan Walker () today.

Best of luck on your own FanDuel Dinger Tuesday bets!
